Sam and Fuzzy Fix A Problem

How about that? Today's comic makes two extra-sized strips in a row... the equivalent of three printed pages each. I hope you enjoyed them! Because now I'm dead.

Tune in again on Friday for our next strip, drawn by my post-mortem successor artist, Hans Guttenwald. Plus, another round of our "Q & A" feature -- just mail all your burning questions here with 'Q and A' in the subject line.

PS: Thank you to all the folks who have been passing along word of the Fireflower Roasting shirts to various gamer-related web locales. I saw it mentioned on two of the gaming blogs I read regularly, and I had a huge grin on my face when I did.

Insatiable Reader shirts are a go!

Our second new shirt design, Insatiable Reader, is now on sale!

The design was inspired by this strip. Or more accurately, it was inspired by the bookmark that was inspired by that strip, which I've been peddling as a con exclusive over the last year or so. A lot of people seem to like Würdwürm, so I've morphed him into a shirt... and we'll be including one of the original bookmarks for free with every "Insatiable Reader" order. Bonus!

Würdwürm joins our Fireflower Roasting Ts and Bat Fuzzy prints in the Sam and Fuzzy Topatoco Store. We have a truly insane number of other things available, as well. Go have a look!

Oh man!Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Upside Down Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"When you had Sam, Fuzzy, and Walter Banner hanging upside down, did you have to turn the page upside down to draw their faces? Or is it
easy for you to draw upside down faces and expressions?" -David

I was wondering if anyone would ask this!

I absolutely had to turn the page upside down. I briefly tried drawing them with the paper the right way around, but it was completely maddening... like trying to draw with your opposite hand, or with oven mitts on, or while being eaten by a bear.

"I came across the idea of "Women in Refigerators" recently, and wondered if this comic was deliberately a reference to it?" -Simon

Afraid not! I'm certainly familiar with Women in Refrigerators Syndrome now, but I probably wasn't at the time I drew that comic. But if I was, I bet I could have got a lot more mileage out of that storyline!

"Is the line 'stupid stupid fig pig' an intentional reference to 'stupid stupid rat creatures' from Bone?" -James

OK, I'll give you that one! I almost never slip quotes into my dialouge -- honest -- but Bone is one of my favourite comics, and the line fit so perfectly with Sam's gradual collapse into babbling that it was impossible to resist.

That's a wrap for this week! See you on Monday, team.
