Anime'd

Anime Revolution has wrapped! Major thanks to all the great readers and newbies who swung by the booth, and to the show organizers for inviting me. I had a swell -- albeit exhausting -- time! (If you're curious, I posted a couple of the sketches I drew at the show on my tumblr.)

But no time to rest now! I'm flying out tomorrow for Fan Expo in Toronto. Please enjoy today's comic while I go get packing!

Anime Revolution Starts Today

If you are in my hometown of Vancouver this weekend, and you like anime -- or you just want to come see my beautiful, beautiful face -- Anime Revolution is a must! Despite my decidedly limited anime credentials, I am a guest of the show, and will be hanging out in the Artist's Alley today, tomorrow and Sunday. I've got all kinds of shirts, books, prints, whiteboards, and who knows what else... and I'll be doing sketches and commissions as well. Come say hello!

Gertrude is one of my favourite Sam and Fuzzy characters. Newer readers may be unfamiliar with her, but worry not: you'll be learning everything you need to know about her in these next few strips! But if you're curious to dip back into the archives, the place to start is here, with the flashback that introduced her.

I'm afraid I need to take a couple of weeks off from the Q and A feature... between Anime Revolution this week and Fan Expo next week, I'm stretched a bit thin! But don't worry... new comics are still on the way, unimpeded and on schedule. Hooray!

Anime Revolution this Weekend!

I am almost ready for Anime Revolution, Vancouver's newest anime convention. Which is good, because it starts first thing on Friday! Hopefully I'll see some of you there! I'll be the guy in the Artist Alley with my fellow artist guests, peddling a broad variety of Sam and Fuzzy paraphenalia and doing sketches.

Speaking of sketches, I'm really pleased by how popular the Superhero Sketch-Off turned out to be! I've sold almost all the original piedes, and I've also wound up doing a few extras for people who asked really, really nicely. (I'll show them all to you later!)

There are only nine of the original drawings left, and unsurprisingly, they are mostly the more... unusual ones. I've made a little montage of them below. If you'd like to nab any of them (for $25 each), just drop me a line. I'm sure there is someone out there with a soft spot for Arm-Fall-Off Boy or Paperink.
