Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Robot Clone Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"In this comic, the ninja mafia noobs have gray on the forehead parts of the masks. Are they just colored differently from true ninja mafiosos? Or are they like shadows or something from reduced coverage?" -Anthony

The grey patterns on their masks, as well as the numbers on their arm bands, are to denote their cadet status. (And relative ranks as such!)

Side trivia: since she was a relatively new recruit, I am retroactively interpreting the triangular marking on Sexxica's mask as the indicator of the final rank held prior to becoming a fully-fledged rank-and-file mafioso.

"What's up with the last 6 or so Q&As being the "Candlestick Maker Edition"? The Candlestick Maker must be really important!" -Jonathan

Whoops! My goof. But don't worry! I've gone back and hastily renamed several of them with the first things that popped into my head.

"Are Carlyle or Sid ever going to make a comeback in the series? I'm quite frankly surprised Carlyle isn't apart of the secret world-ruling council. Seems like a natural fit for him." -Johnny

He may be deserving, but I think Carlyle is too strong a force of all that is pure and good to associate with the likes of those scoundrels on the committee. (And on a more outside-the-comic level, Carlyle is a character that works best when handled delicately and primarily symbolically, so I wouldn't want to reintroduce him into the comic without having a really compelling purpose.

As for Sid, he is definitely a character I'd like to check in again with someday! But it's all about finding the appropriate place -- if there is one -- in the current story. We'll see!

That's a wrap for this week, team. See you on Monday!

Commission season

Looks like I'm starting to get the traditional rush of pre-Christmas commission requests! If you're looking to get someone an original drawing for a gift, now is the time to let me know. (ie: The time where I am not yet too busy to take on any more.)

You can see some samples of my commission work on my tumblr and my somewhat out-of-date deviantart page. As you can see, I've done everything from Sam and Fuzzy-related art to dinosaur petting zoo murals to drawings of people's friends dressed up as obscure Dark Souls characters. If there's something you'd like me to draw, just drop me an email with your ideas and I'd be happy to give you some options and quotes.

Desert Bus For Hope Auction Today!

My insane pals from Loading Ready Run are once again enslaving themselves for charity in another round of Desert Bus For Hope. And like last year, I've drawn a special art piece to auction off for the fundraiser. This time, it's an epic showdown between gaming's two most famous copycats:

We're listing the piece as a silent auction, with bidding opening at 6am and closing at 2pm, PST. This will hopefully give more Sam and Fuzzy readers a crack at bidding and winning it than the all-at-once five-minute live auctions we've done in previous years! Good luck, potential bidders, and remember... it's for the kids.

In other news, I've gotten a lot of messages from folks who'd like to see the Ninja Mafia Wants YOU" poster from last Friday's comic transformed into a print. (A couple also suggested a shirt, but I think I already have my "Ninja Mafia" t-shirt base thoroughly covered.) Would you like to see it available in print form, too? Let me know!

-Sam Logan

PS: And speaking of prints, don't forget my terrifyingly dorky "Jokemon" print collection, which can be viewed and ordered by clicking the image below.
