Book Club packs are out!

The latest Book Club bonus pack has emailed out! If there's anyone who should have received one and hasn't yet, drop me a line and let me know. (Ditto if you bought your copy of Volume 3 at a convention, rather than online, and weren't automatically added to the mailing list as a result.) I'm looking forward to seeing which desktop idea you all elect for the next bonus pack!

All right... back to work. I've got comics to draw, new shirts to design and taxes to file! See you all on Wednesday, team.

Ultimate Reminder: if you'd like to get in on our latest batch of free Book Club bonuses, today is the last day to do so! Just head over to Topatoco and nab a copy of Volume 3 (or a multi-book bundle) and it'll be all yours.

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Ending Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"Would that happen to be Carlyle driving Sam
around in his town car? If not, will he be coming back into the story
again?" -Daniel

I get this question so often, I feel like I should really feature it in a Q and A.

I'm not going to answer it, but I am going to feature it!

"What happened to Nicole wanting to break away from the Noosehead brandname? Did she give in to the pressure, as Sam has done? Is it some sort of parallelism?" -Stuart

At the time, I think Nicole would have argued that changing the name was about establishing a new identity for the group, and refusing to coast on the band's previous, Sidney-fronted successes. But in the end, I think it was more about her being insecure, and afraid that the band's new material with her as the front-woman wouldn't live up to the legend of the old stuff.

These days, Nicole is in a pretty confident, assertive place, and she's written some material that she believes in... material written pretty aggressively in the exact genre the old band was known for. I see it as kind of defiantly inviting comparison and criticism rather than hiding from it. The Noosehead name doesn't intimidate her anymore.

The parallelism with Sam is kind of interesting. They certainly both think they're doing the what's right for themselves, embracing these sort of legacy institutions. I guess we'll see if either or both of them are right as the story progresses!

Anyhoo, that's all for now. Come back on Monday for more comics!

Bunton's Books

Alexa! It's been a while.

I just added a new appearance to my calendar... at a comics event in my old home town of Victoria, BC! If you're going to be in town on April 7th, you should definitely come... it's free, and there will be quite a few talented cartoonists there. (Paul Chadwick!)

Remember, Book Club members: email me your ideas for future bonus desktop you'd like me to make so I can include my favs in the poll I'm sending out with your next batch of Book Club bonuses. (And remember, non-members... if you'd like to recieve those bonuses too, just make sure you pick up a copy of Vol 3 by Friday!)
