TCAF week: the week of TCAF

Busy times this week! Why? First off: it's almost TCAF time! And that means flying out to Toronto for the latest iterations of one of my favourite comic events of the year. (Hope to see you there, Torontonians!)

I've also been pretty busy working on some classic-leaning Sam and Fuzzy art for an upcoming... thing. I've been posting a bunch of the in-progress stuff on my tumblr, if your curious! There are some familiar old faces to be seen.

Free Comic Book Day @ Metropolis Comics!

Hey, Vancouver friends... I'll be appearing tomorrow at Metropolis Comics for Free Comic Book Day! Metropolis will be giving out a bevy of FCBD books, as well as a bunch of other special prizes. And I'll have a small selection of my own swag in tow, as well. It should be a lot of fun!

"Though I love the new arc, own the three books, and am sure that this arc's ending will be as epic and incredible as the ending to the Noosehead/Sin Records arc...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PUBLISH THE OLDER STUFF AGAIN!
I know you've published books of your older work in the past, but please consider bringing them back or publishing new ones! Huge books, small books, overpriced books, I don't care! I'll buy them. I love your stuff." -Joel

Friends, a time will come (surprisingly soon) when a certain webcomic artist you like may or may not be launching a crowdfunding effort to finally collect all his older comics in print. Said print collection may or may not be an enormous 1500+ two-volume omnibus set, available in both softcover and deluxe hardcover. If this is a thing you'd like to see succeed, I would, hypothetically, advise you to prepare yourself mentally. (And if possible, financially.)

I think I have a pretty good idea for a t-shirt design involving Ship Wrex! I'm going to try to put it together as soon as I'm done working on this, uh... other hypothetical thing.

"How did Gertrude recognize Devahi as one of the cadets? I thought face-concealment was standard amongst ninjas. " -Ian

Just from the uniform, I think. I don't think she necessarily realized it was "Danielle" specifically. (Although I suppose she might have just recognized her voice, or have seen her without her mask on before.)

That's a wrap for this week, team. Back on Monday!

VanCAF

Hey, Vancouver! Remember the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival? Remember how awesome it was? Well it's happening again this year... And if you are as excited about it as I am, there are a variety of ways of expressing said excitement!

As before, VanCAF is totally free to attend. But for those who'd like to help fund the show, you can pick up a $15 VIP package, which will net you an art book (this piece was my contribution), a tote bag, and a bunch of other goodies.

And if you're especially keen, VanCAF is also looking for volunteers! (Side note: Sam and Fuzzy's Overkill robot has been resurrected to adorn the show's volunteer shirts. Woo!)

The show is only a few weeks away. Are you going to be there? Let us know on the facebooks, so we can prepare for an unruly mob of the appropriate size.
