Gettin' Shifty

Things are ramping up over here! I've been extra hard at work lately... not just on Sam and Fuzzy and various kickstarter-related tasks, but on Shannon and I's upcoming comic for Namco ShiftyLook. (I can't wait to show you guys that project... it's shaping up really nicely!) Now, don't get me wrong... I love being busy, when what I'm busy with is making comics. But I swear, with all these pictures to draw, how's a guy supposed to find time to play Mario 3D World?

I'm out! Until Wednesday's strip. See you then!

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Biting Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"Sam, any chance you can make the "Biting is the only way I know how to love" in the right size for a small cat? Because I have a cat, and it turns out... biting is the only way she knows how to love, too!" -Keith

I bet your cat will be especially eager to employ that expression of love once you force her to wear t-shirts!

I think pet-sized clothing is a bit outside the production scope of our small operation. I would advise nabbing a ladies small (which, ladies will tell you, are really small!) and then either:

a) take in the shirt (utilizing sewing)

b) enlarge your cat (utilizing irresponsible feeding habits)

"With the varied population of the Sam and Fuzzy world, why are there only human ninjas?" -Sean

Too cheap to make custom uniforms!

In seriousness, each non-human species in the Sam and Fuzzy is in a pretty different boat, as far as privilege is a concern. After all, it's species that determines where someone they can live, whether they have to do so in disguise, whether their natural behaviour and intelligence can be displayed in public, and so on. This has resulted in a pretty segregated underground society, and inhumans tend to gravitate to the organizations and territories of whichever committee members have the interests of their species most at heart. The Cat Emperor has predominantly cat subjects, the Vampire Guild governs vampire society, and so on.

The Ninja Mafia, traditionally, is a predominantly above-ground criminal operation. (Albeit with a below-ground headquarters, to protect itself from surface law enforcement.) So its members are primarily recruited from above-ground society. I'm sure there have been a few non-humans among their ranks, probably primarily those who can pass for human. But as an organization, it doesn't have a very good history of being helpful towards those kind of folks.

"Sam had a trusted team setting up the "Ninja truck diorama". And he
obviously also has a trusted team diverting the blood trucks. How did
he assemble and direct all those without his top lieutenants noticing?" -David

Carefully orchestrated outside help! And now, you can probably guess who from... right?

That's a wrap for this week! See you on Monday, team.

Biting is the only way I can love

I'm glad to hear you guys like the new shirts! I only really know how to make shirts that I think will be cool... so it's always a bit of a relief to hear I'm not the only one.

We return on Friday with our next comic, as well as our traditional round of Q and A! (If you've got a question you want answered, just drop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line.) See you then!
