Room with a Moose

Did you know that there's an Invader Zim comic book? Most of the stories are written by folks who worked on the show. But in the newest issue that came out last Wednesday -- Invader Zim 17 -- there's also a short-but-sweet back-up story that was written by me! (With art by Jarrett Williams , colours by Fred C Stresing, and lettering by Warren Wucinich.) If you're interested, you can find it at your local comic store, or through various digital comics sellers.

We return on Wednesday with our next comic! See you then.

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A:  Sin Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"In light of recent comics ending, like the good doctor McNinja, how do you stay motivated to create these extensive and elaborate stories?" -Alex

Mainly, I'm motivated by the fact that this one still isn't done yet! Ha! I have been slugging away at the same story that started waaaaay back in Sam and Fuzzy Fix Your Problem. We're on what will eventually be the sixth and final book in that story now, which is exciting, but there's still quite a ways to go. (It's a long one!)

Otherwise, well... telling stories is my favourite thing to do in comics! It's why I drifted away from gag strips all those many, many years ago. I think, though, that once this particular story is finally complete, I will probably tackle a smaller tale for my follow-up. They can't all be enormous ten-year-long epics.

"On the subject of Mr. Sin:
He's a creature from somewhere off this planet; He's extremely knowledgeable of advanced scientific technologies; he's as deviant as they come: Does this mean that he's a scientist of a species that's generally despicable, a despicable member of a species that is so advanced even it's con artists know advanced science, or does he happen to be a money-grubbing scientist of a different species?" -Alexander

I think Mr. Sin's technical know-how, although very impressive by Earth standards, was probably not particularly out-of-the-ordinary back home.  The way Sin talks and acts, to me, betrays like a man... er, space gopher... with an inferiority complex and a desire to be a big fish in a small pond.

"What cons are you going to be at this year?" -Mike

Glad you asked! I'll post them up top as they draw closer, but:

That's a lot of dang shows, isn't it? Ha!

Ok, team. That's a wrap for this week. See you on Monday with a new comic!

Wot

We return on Friday with the next part of our story, and also a new round of reader Q and A! As always, if you've got a question you'd like me to answer, just pop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line.

Meanwhile, if you enjoy some random bonus marker art, I've been posting a few marker drawings I've made of various critters from my friends and I's current D&D campaign. You can see 'em over on my tumblr! (Or on my twitter, if you like your drawings interspersed with random one-liners.)
