FIIIIIIIIG

Who could forget Fig Pig -- an attempt to genetically engineer a living stationery mascot gone horribly wrong! He made his debut way back in the Trade Secrets storyline, then re-appeared (in much larger form) for the city-destroying monster-on-monster battle that was Buddocalypse! (The Valle de los Monstruos, as you may recall, is Fig Pig's home territory these days.

We return on Wednesday with our next comic! See you then, everybody.

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A:  Carl Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"Say, are we ever going to see Carlyle again ? Sam looks like he could do with his advice, at the moment. (Either way, the parallel with 'Carl' in those last two strips has been a blast.)" -Emilien

I don't think so, no!

I mean, I guess I should never say never, since Carlyle has already popped up one more time than I said he ever would. But his role in Sam's story, I think, is good and finished. After everything that's happened, Sam really needs to deal with his own mess. He can't lean on the crutch of a sagely guru to figure things out for him anymore. (Which I guess is kind of what those comics with Carl are all about!)

"Is Hart actually technically the Ninja Emperor just now? He technically killed the old emperor right? Although it wasn't a complete wipeout of the council. Or is it Candice? Or perhaps Brain because he contains them?" -James

Candice is the one who finished off the old emperor -- as in, the actual human emperor that Hart was riding around in. So, that would have made her the rightful successor, had she survived.

But since she didn't -- ghostly echoes aside -- there actually isn't a proper successor. The line ended with her. The Mafia disolved, and if Sam and Mr. Blank hadn't wilfully misled everyone in order to resurect it, it would (and should) have stayed that way.

"Have you ever noticed the similarities between the Erasers (and, if you tweak the idea slightly, maybe NMS too) and the SCP foundation?" -Niajah

Yeah! I was only introduced to the SCP a couple of years ago, but I think anyone who reads up on the SCP fiction will notice has some conceptual similarities with the Erasers and the Committee. I am not surprised the SCP stuff took off... it's a fun idea to play with!

That's a wrap for this week, team. See you on Monday for a new comic containing a surprise familiar face!

HAAAK

I posted some fun stuff on Patreon last week! There's a couple of public posts of drawings based on backer suggestions, including a gothy Squirrel Girl and a very retro 1930s style X-men piece. There's also a pair of new pin-ups for folks backing at the Saucy Hippo tier, and one more batch of backer-suggested pieces going up later this week.

We return on Friday with a new comic and a new round of Q and A! Have you got a question you'd like me to answer -- about the comic, my other work, or the great and terrifying world beyond? Just send it my way on twitter, or pop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line!
