Crabby

You can see "that guy who was really a crab" -- the man known as Dr. Crab or Dr. Love -- make his own on-stage debut at an earlier Inhuman Aid concert in this comic.

We return on Friday with a new comic and a new round of Q and A! Got a question you'd like to ask me? Just pop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line.

Thanks

It's Canadian Thanksgiving! So, in case I don't say it enough, thanks to all of you for reading my comics and supporting my work. I am so, so lucky to get to do this.

And speaking of doing this... time to get back to work! We return on Wednesday with our next comic. See you then, team!

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A:  Octopus Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"Are you really going to draw octopus characters all month for Inktober?" -Amy

Absolutely not, ha ha! As you may have already seen, I spent the first week drawing Octopus-themed characters for "October"... but have since switched to drawing Doctor-themed characters for "Doctober". (Fortunately, this new theme still allowed me to draw another Doctor Octopus.)

I'll be switching the theme again next week. You'll have to wait and see what it is, though! But you all can check out all my Inktober drawings, past and upcoming, as I post them each day on Twitter and Instagram.  Here's a preview of some of the other ones I've done so far!

"So, Gertrude's evil side was represented by herself as a child. But Dev's evil side (in the recent Saucy Hippo [Patreon] comics) is represented by Jess Star. What does it mean, Sam? Does Dev not have a bad side of her own? Does she need to contract an outsider?" -Jason

Not to overthink this, but it's about the specific context of the conflict at hand, and how the characters percieve themselves!

Gert was worried she was going soft and losing her edge. So, she visualized a more ruthless internal voice as the "purer", less conflicted ambitious kid she used to be.

But in the Saucy Hippo Patreon comics, Dev is just worried about being too shy to make a move on anyone. (lol.) She visualizes a flirty, aggressive internal voice as Jess because she has trouble imagining having any of those qualities herself. (As a side note, Conscience Jess wound up being a fun enough and while she's only going to be in the Saucy Hippo comics for now, I think she might show up in a "regular" comic someday... provided anyone can convince her to put on some pants.)

The real question is, why do people keep imagining their moral and pious sides as a cat? Seems kind of weird to me...

We return on Monday with our next comic. See you then, team!
