Inspiration is sold separately

Maybe it's just a result of the comic becoming larger and more visually driven, but over the last few months I've gotten a real surge of requests for commissioned artwork. For those who don't know, I do sell custom original art. Now, I admit it's not the sort of thing you can buy with an hour's wage working at McDonalds, but it's cheaper than a car and it's much easier to frame. If you have an idea of what you're after, you can always email me for a quote.

Most of the time people seem to want either portraits of friends or tattoo designs, but I can do pretty much anything you have in mind, provided you keep your mind out of the gutter. Unless, of course, you actually want an illustration of a gutter. That's cool. Who wouldn't?

I wonder what it tastes like

Have you seen all the hilarious new pics and movies of Snake's appearance in Smash Bros Brawl? I can't believe how accurately, or for that matter, how extensively, they are adapting the source material into the game. They really seem to be going the extra mile to fulfill every ounce of potential that the concept of a Metal Gear/Smash Bros mashup presents... even if that means letting Snake talk about eating Yoshi.

It's certainly a much more satisfying way to do a crossover than just shoving the characters' models into a pre-existing game template and ignoring almost everything else about them and their respective franchises.

Scotchtoberfest

Man, October already? How did that happen? It certainly puts into focus the metric ton of stuff I need to get done... none the least of which is finish up my next couple of new t-shirt designs and get started on my next book!

Meanwhile, I am finally down to my last handful of Fuzzy Mob limited prints. Like the name suggests, once these last few are gone there will never be any more, so if you want one, act fast!

And in more asinine news... a couple of weeks ago I broke the 'q' key on my keyboard. Since then, whenever I've needed to use that letter I've just been copying and pasting it if from someplace else. Isn't that sad? With any other letter, I would have already gotten around to replacing the board, but you know... It's really amazing how seldom you have to use that one. I wonder how long I can go on like this? Maybe years!
