As far as Sam, Fuzzy and Hazel go... well, Sam knows Hazel has some kind of complicated past with Fuzzy, but mainly, he just knows her as the thief who worked for Mr. Sin on that job where he nearly got killed by robots. Beyond that, there's probably a lot he's been able to piece together from what he saw that day -- remember, this conversation happened right in front of him. But it's definitely something that Fuzzy has still avoided talking to him about. It's something that will be clarified a bit in upcoming strips, now that the conversation has been kind of forcibly instigated.

I'm looking forward to it, along with Sam (likely) figuring out the REAL reason Fuzzy returned to NMS.

I'm convinced that Sam created this arc solely to give him an excuse to make the cat puns he's been holding back for years.

I like that idea a lot, too. But why or how Hazel (and Eric/Fuzzy for that matter) would get involved with such a being is the story I'm looking forward to.

Yeah, okay, new theory: Hazel is Candice's sister. She wants codes to the Pit to bring Candice (and DJ Positive!) back to life. She works with Brain because he, like Fridge, is a disgruntled demon who wants back into Hell, so it works.

For the sticklers that point out that Hazel and Brain have been going at it for ten years, well ... maybe at first they were just manipulating all of these high-end, business crooks for money and fun, but then Hazel found out that Candice and their father was killed, so the mission took on a new goal.
