In totally unrelated news, my new title is "Steampunk Kitty". That's awesome, it's one of my favourite art genres.

I don't know if anything can beat "Phazon Kitty" though.

Webcomics Are Awesome is a webcomic that is awesome. It is almost entirely Scott McCloud bashing.

Wow, I love Scott Mcloud, and still found that hilarious!
I know!
Spoiler: show
"Dictionary.com define" 'webcomics' as 'No Entry Found. Did you mean webcam?'" will probabyl make me laugh forever.
And after some research, it turns out I've read some of the author's other work too. I still remember the glory of "Fox and Apple" and "Timmy the Tampon".
Currently I'm reading his short comic, Evil Circus, and it's great.

Hmmm... a couple of titles in no particular order...

Flaky Pastry
Bardsworth
Hell-bent
Arcane Times
Airships and blimps were mentioned earlier somewhere else... howaboutthese...?
Oh, and there was one more... hang on a sec... oh yeah; "Sam and..." oh shit.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. Don't push it though...

Today I picked up the print copy of volume one of BLEACH. readbleach.com hasn't been working for me lately and I've been meaning to start reading them in print anyway. I am slightly disappointed that they translated the sound effects (better to read, but Japanese characters look cooler. It just looks silly with so many rounded Roman letters) and translated "Shinigami" to "Soul Reaper". Other than that though it's worth checking out.

It's probably translated that way to match the dub. I've seen it translated as Death God in some fan translations, too.
I'm not really working on anything at the moment, but here's a link to my tumblr anyway.

Soul Reaper is the official translation from Viz that they use in their translations and dubs. Death God is the literal translation, but a lot of translations/subs just leave it as Shinigami to avoid debate.

I've seen so many odd translations for Bleach. Soul Reaper, Flash Step, various techniques...

It's like no one can agree on what to do.

It's like that for all language translations. Languages never have 1 to 1 equivalents for words, so there's always some debate on the best way to translate things.

Honestly I'd be kind of pissed off if I paid good money for a translation and they left all the sound effects in japanese.
