I am currently finishing up The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and starting Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Both are awesome. :cat:

I need to finish TTGL. I saw the first 5 episodes and loved it but then forgot about it.

I haven't watched any anime in a while, but I recommend Full Metal Panic and Busou Renkin.

I just finished Blood+ (AT THE SAME TIME AS ADULT SWIM AIRED THE LAST EPISODE WHAT A CO-INKY-DINK), which, despite the godawful voicework in the dub was quite good.

Anyone who hasn't watch TTGL yet should be right now.
I'm not really working on anything at the moment, but here's a link to my tumblr anyway.

After a recommendation from Claire last year, I watched Eureka Seven. The first few episodes are kind of slow, but then it gets really good. I was always surprised how much story they could cover in 24 minutes in the second season.

Ookiku Furikabutte is good if you don't mind baseball.

Tokyo Marble Chocolate is a two episode "romance" anime, but it has an interesting presentation to it. The story itself doesn't really lay any new ground, but it's split into two parts. Each describes the same story, but from two different perspectives; a boy part (Zenryoku Shounen) and a girl part (Mata Aimashou). I guess you can watch either in any order, but really I recommend that the boy part be watched first, although it's the weaker of the two. The girl episode really is the more interesting half, but since the boy part sets up the characters and situation, it lets you appreciate it more. If I had just seen the boy part I wouldn't have recommended it, but together I quite liked it (even though it has the obligatory weird animal mascot). Also one of the theme songs was in Oendan 2.

The only anime I watch now is Death Note, and I can never talk about it because people seem to forget I haven't finished the series immediantly after I told them I haven't finished the series and start spouting spoilers and I get all grumpy and try to forget.

oh crap
what have I done

Anime! I only watch fansubs because dubs are made of fail if done wrong. Going to have to agree with Gin and Zabier, welcome to the fold fellow Haruhiists. I just hope that you aren't off-put by the fact that all episodes are out of order.

Hmm let's see, what have I to contribute.

Watching (or planning to watch):
-Minami-ke Okawari, an anime about "the lives of the characters that didn't make it in to Lucky Star, thankfully Lucky Star sucked (that's what it wrote in the fansub)".
-Spice and Wolf, or Wolf and Spice, I've heard good things about it and it's unique take on fantasy.
-Love Hina, the whole series, again, because it has aged well, unlike other contemporaries.
-Bleach, maybe, I prefer the manga, but I'd like to watch the bount arc.
-Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, the second season, whenever it airs.
-Mahou Sensei Negima!, I heard its different from the manga, don't spoil it for me.

The only really great part of the Bount arc is the last episode.
I used to prefer the manga, but the anime really grows on you.

Borrowed DVDs of Azumanga Daioh volumes 1, 2, and 3 from a guy at work. :cat:

Finished watching Azumanga Daioh!. It's discs one to three, though, so I still haven't seen the whole series.
Much better than the manga, which is still pretty good. That's expected, though, because you can't stretch out one 4koma to fit five minutes. They changed the order around for a lot of things, as well.

Favourite moment thus far: Kaorin completely flipping out after seeing the photos of Sakaki from the first summer beach trip. The fact that she flips out again during the second one makes it even better.

Also, "Soramimi Cake" is an awesome theme song.

I need to get the Azumanga Daioh anime, I loved the manga so much and I've heard good things about the anime so a need to watch it is a given. For the most part I don't like anime that initially existed as a manga first. The pacing of certain scenes (shounen anime, I'm looking at you) is often hard to deliver as it was and just leads to a sense of being underwhelmed. Not that all anime adapations are like that but it's a common problem. Besides which, if it's not very different from the manga I'm not so inclined to go and watch an anime adaption of something that's gone on for over 300 chapters.

A friend of mine is gonna be sending me some Gurren Laggen so that ought to be good and up until recently I was watching Gundam 00 though that's done until October this year. I borrowed the Escaflowne boxset off my friend but I don't seem to be able to bring myself to trudge through the massive thing...

Other than that, not much anime going on. Been quite enjoying my manga though.

Fair to say that my manga reading has far outpaced my anime watching. That and because most of the series I'm waiting for are not out/completed yet.
