According to wikipedia it is "the House of the Book building at the Brandeis-Bardin Institute, located in the city of Simi Valley in southern California." Which is actually the town where I was born. Maybe I'm secretly Alpha 5.

So I finally finished Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Picard's a cool dude and all, but the crew were practically worshiping him by the end.

Whenever Ryker was put in charge, it seemed like he didn't know any method of interrogating people other than pure intimidation. That was probably just them trying to point out how he's different from Picard, but they went a bit overboard. He was always the bad cop!

Making Data into reverse-Spock worked really well, especially in the episode where the two of them met. You always knew if it was a Data episode, it was going to be a good one.

Same thing with Worf. Makes me wish more of the crew had been non-humans. C'mon people, it's science fiction; that's what we're here for!

How come Dianna and Geordi's superpowers only stopped working in situations where they would actually be useful? Why even give them powers?

Seems like they really struggled with finding something for Dr. Crusher to do. Her episodes are all such a grab bag of random stuff.

Pakleds are best Star Trek race. How has there not been a series with a Pakled Science Officer yet?

Lessons is the worst episode of any Star Trek show I have ever seen. I'm sure my opinion will soon change as I dive right into Deep Space Nine.

That's because Picard is best captain.

That's 'cause Riker is Kirk.

You always knew if it was a Data episode, it was going to be a good one.

Damn straight.

Same thing with Worf.

. . . bleh.

How come Dianna and Geordi's superpowers only stopped working in situations where they would actually be useful? Why even give them powers?

Dramatic convenience.

Pakleds are best Star Trek race. How has there not been a series with a Pakled Science Officer yet?

Because their catchphrase sounds too much like Picard's catchphrase.

Lessons is the worst episode of any Star Trek show I have ever seen. I'm sure my opinion will soon change as I dive right into Deep Space Nine.

In my own opinion, DS9 started off strong but then started to stumble around the time the Dominion was revealed. After that it got too bogged down in soap opera nonsense. But take heart in the fact that at least even then you still won't have seen the worst episode ever. After all, you've still got Voyager after that.

If they just hadn't fucked up Enterprise partway through and so bad that even making it super awesome again couldn't save it, there'd be nothing to miss!

Lessons can't be the worst episode of Star Trek ever because someone. Made an episode of voyager called "Threshold." It was one of the worst science fiction pieces I've ever seen.

Man, did you guys ever watch that scifi show called Threshold? It's like six years old and got cancelled almost immediately (huge surprise), but it was super awesome.

You mean the one that was produced by Brendon Bragga and had the Dwarf from Game of Thrones in it without ever mentioning he was a Dwarf?

Actually, I've never seen it, but I watched a video criticism that said it was quite good.

Shoot yeah! I remember watching that every week and being completely engrossed by it. I was mad as hell when they canceled it.

Yeah it had Peter Dinklage and Brent Spiner. I think they mentioned how he was a dwarf, but maybe it was in one of the unaired episodes on the DVD set. It was super good, and reading their plans for future storylines on Wikipedia just made me even more sad it was cancelled.

There's a bit of a buzz around Portlandia, so I decided to jump on the band wagon and check it out..

IT'S WEIRD.

No as weird as Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! but still weird. I'm half way through season 1. I liked 'put a bird on it' and the crazy trendy biker..

Also the theme song is that of Washed Out.. who I loved.. before I saw him play live.. but this song and the whole first EP is pretty amazing.

I don't watch the Office any more, but Catherine Tate is the best companion on Doctor Who so I will assume that means she is also the best character on the Office.

You would be poorly mistaken then. I haven't watched all of Dr Who but I did see that season. She's completely different. She gets under your skin and irritates the fuck out of it.
