I use abstract classic, or something like that. Basically the buttons are prettier. That's about it. Dunno if it's available for 3 yet.

Does that exist for Windows?

No you didn't, the Linux version of FF2 is just better at not using up all your memory. FF3 is way faster and has better memory management on all OS's.

Jack: What's EI? You mean IE? Safari got tabs before IE (they were in Safari 2, just disabled by default). The reason IE has natural integration into Windows Explorer is that they're actually the same app (the say way Konquerer on KDE is used for both file navigation and internet browsing). In my experience, it doesn't create any useful benefits having it set up this way, and exposes a lot more security risks.

I realize that they're the same thing, and that annoys me, but it does work out really nicely with the Bookmarks.

Found a rather angular simple one called Full Flat. It'll probably do till whitehart gets the v3 treatment..

I used to use the Zune theme to match my Windows theme. Also, my entire menu bar was compressed into the Pirate Bay Logo. Right now I think I'll stick with the default theme for a while.

Waugh! F3 suddenly started logging me out of sites I have set for auto-login! If I turn off Firefox and load it back up, I have to actually use my user name and password for the forums!

I can never shut Firefox down ever again!

Never have used it, no . . . would I still have to click log in, or would it do it automatically?

If you use the remember function for Firefox it just enters your login and password, you do have to press the log in button. But did you maybe set it to delete cookies after closing the browser, that would stop sites from saving your password and auto logging you in.

My options are set to erase cookies when they expire. This is the original (and, I'm assuming, default) setting, yet this only started happening yesterday.

I've already done some looking around the 'net for answers, and it seems that I'm not the only one having this problem. Strangely, however, there seems to be at least a few different ways needed to fixed it, all pointing at different causes resulting in the same symptoms. The most prominent fixes, it seems, is to de-activate certain addons, delete the cookie files entirely, wipe Firefox completely and reinstall, or wipe Firefox 3 entirely and switch back to Firefox 2.

I don't have any of the trouble addons, and I tried shutting down all my addons anyway and it didn't work. I'll probably try deleting the cookie files next, but that might only be a temporary fix at best . . . the leading theory is that the files are getting corrupted somehow, so there's every chance they might get corrupted again in a few days. I'd really like to avoid a re-install of either F3 or F2.

Unfortunately, I've seen posts from a few folks that say none of these fixes worked for them, so I may end up just having to wait for Mozilla to get the problem straightened out themselves.
