I thought Bionicle was pretty cool. A bit weird with all their funny names which I don't know how to pronounce.. but they had some cool pieces.. Dunno if this will work.. but if it introduces some cool mechanical robotic pieces I may just get hooked.. but if this guy says Hero one more time.. *shakes fist*

That's not Bionicle at all! Same concept it seems though, might be cool.

I think that's the first thing to be nerfed in Lego universe.

That is exactly the same thing as Bionicle but with a less cool name and backstory.

They were stretching it with the Bionicle I thought. No reason not to refresh and the design from this looks just fine, haven't looked up anything else though.

Its Lego tho.. does it need cool names and a backstory? I never played by the rules when it came to Lego. That's the whole point behind it. You make your own stuff and create your own characters. It might be a cool selling tool, but once the seal is broken on the oddly shaped cylindrical tubes and the pieces free of those holey plastic bags, story and names go right out the window for me.

Maybe you're right. Lego has been steadily moving away from abstract blocks towards pre-designed sets, which is actually kind of sad. If "Hero Factory" is based more on designing your own hero based on interchangeable parts instead of making an already established design, then maybe it's better.

Here's my finished Daigoyou from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger:
ImageImageImageImage

He's a lantern and jitte.. which transforms into a support robot in the series. He's a plastic 'candy toy' kit about 12cm tall and was moulded completely in blue.

There doesn't look like much paining here but there is many many many layers to body. The real one lights up, so I tried to simulate transparent red plastic... I think I did an okay job for an amateur. I think the layers went White/Yellow/Red/Red/Clear/Clear Red/Clear/Clear Red/Clear. I only used one sticker and that is the Shiba clan logo on his forehead. I tried to paint this, but it looked shit. All I need to do is seal the sticker with something so it wont deteriorate.

Haha, nothing meant by it. I was just curious, it never seems like you express much interest in these things outside of the toys but there ya have it.

Okayyy.. If you missed it,I mentioned I got my name down for a limited release for another kaiju vinyl figure..

Who is Beetlar? He is a 3.5" designer vinyl figure by a japanese artist under the name of Buster Call.

This variant in conjunction with artist LilJAPAN, is clear vinyl, with red, black and gold spray.

I did some research and I have found Beetlar has been around for about 5-6 years now.. and there are a few variants.. *sigh*
Spoiler: show

These are just the ones I like.. hahaha its pretty much all of them.. there's about another 5.

Its a lottery draw, so you gotta send the guy an email, then he'll randomly pick out names and send you the details to pay for it. So I hope I'm lucky, despite being about $40 for a 3.5" figure.. but I REALLY like the look of this critter. There's just something cool about kabutomushi and clear vinyl. I would prefer a clear sculpt with a GID fill, like the Mongolion I got, but beggars can't be choosers.

*FINGERS CROSSED*
