I'm so excited by what's going on right now. I love all these crazy items, though it's been about two days, and I'm waiting for that animation that was due over a month ago on 4/13. I have no clue how Hussie thought he'd be able to fit all this past month's worth of stuff into that week before 4/13. But anyway, everything's getting intense. It can't be long before Jade gets to make crazy items like the others did. Plus, we must be getting close to her robot exploding/her entering the medium. Gaaah! So many other things that must be right around the corner that I want to know about!! And what the hell is going on in that lab that John is in?!

Also, I'm very glad this has it's own thread now. It needed one.

Ah. Yeah, the clone thing is certainly confusing.
What confuses me the most is realizing that these paradox clones are important to the plot (because, let's be honest, everything in here is important to the plot). And it's not just one set of clones, but two sets of clones. Why does John need 8 Homestuck babies?!?!?! I WANT TO KNOW!!!

It's Grandpa, Grandma, Bro, and Mom, which were then alchemized to form Rose, John, Dave, and Jade. According to 4chan the combinations are:

Grandma + Grandpa: John and Jade
Grandpa + Mom: Rose
Bro + Grandma: Dave

Meaning that Jade and John are brother and sister, and Dave and Rose are both their half-siblings, although they themselves aren't related.

Judging from the latest updates, Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, and Bro are all created by cloning themselves. John, Rose, Dave, and Jade are created by combining DNA from each of the original four. And John is the one who made it happen (sort of). Can you say ontological paradox?

I don't see any evidence to support those pairings you mentioned. If anything, if you go by how the goo was mixed, it should be:
Grandma + Grandpa: John and Jade
Mom + Bro: Rose and Dave

Which would mean that each set of kids is genetically related (although I would hesitate to call them "siblings").

The only one who apparently isn't a clone is Dad.
