Assuming they all got 52+ episode series, wouldn't that be enough development? I'd want all four to get equal treatment.

Nah I think those elements are referring to the part of the avatar cycle we're in, not the "book" names.

Oh yeah derp, I'm referring to Aang and Korra, not necessarily Korra's first two seasons. Sorry if that was unclear.

OH!
Right I'm with you now, that would be completly fucking awesome and I'd be all over that, though I'd change earth to 1950's and have it finish in the modern day instead of going sci-fi. Just cause 1950's avatar would be awesome

The problem is that Korra is already 1920s so to get a new one by the 50s would require her to die young. Or I guess they can just not have technology advance as fast in avatarworld.

oh good point, didn't think of that. Although they could do something awesome with that.
Have her get assassinated in the same way that Archduke Franz Ferdinand did and spark avatar universe style world war (I know wrong one) in the late 30's to have a young avatar trying to deal with WW2 style madness in the 50's.

I don't see any reason why they strictly have to go forward.

Didn't they say there was 400 dudes before Aang? They could always make a show about one of them.

just throwing this out there, would watch the shit out of an avatar kyoshi show.

The only problem with going back is that from all the previous generations of avatars we've seen the world kind of stagnated at that one tech level for a fucking long time.

Yeah I would literally watch anything set in the avatar universe at any time. But in general the problem with prequels is that you already know where things have to end up which can be limiting for writers and can ruin any major surprises for audiences. Plus I mean: benders in space fighting aliens sounds like the greatest show.

can the aliens bend? It would be cool if since they grew up in a different environment they bend different things, it would still have to fit in to the whole gas/liquid/solid/plasma forms of the bending but it could be like water benders are instead oil benders, and alien earth benders are tungsten benders.

Slightly off topic, this whole fantasy with advancing technology thing that Avatar has going on keeps reminding me of Mistborn (which is a fantasy book series you should read if you're into that sort of thing). The author's stated goal is to have a series of trilogies on the same planet which each being further into the future, starting with generic fantasy medieval time period, then late 1800s/early 1900s time period, then current day equivalent, then the future with spaceships and interplanetary travel. He's currently on the second series, which is basically a wild west story with magic. And I think theoretically the idea is that all his other fantasy novels take places on different planets and eventually in the future when spaceships are invented they meet up and have crossover books? It's pretty cool. I wish there were more fantasy/magic stories that didn't take place in the same LotR-ish time period.

Korra book 2 to be named "Spirits". Sounds totally awesome: http://www.theouthousers.com/index.php/ ... panel.html
