The Daily Events and Anecdotes Thread

Everyone likes to talk about themselves! Do it here so I don't have to read it. Ha ha! Just kidding. I'm actually illiterate.

So I had a giftmas themed party last night.. had the hat & I thought I'd make a beard to match.. It was kind of uncomfortable and people couldn't take me seriously when I was wearing it. It got about 10mins of wear before I realised I couldn't drink with it on.. The 15mins it took to make was worth short-lived novelty.

Haha, that looks pretty good!

I'm so super busy all the time now. It's nice, but tiring. Classes are over in just a couple of days, then finals week, and then home for the holidays. It's amazing how quickly this semester has gone by...
Tonight is the cruise for everyone who participated in the scavenger hunt, so that's gonna be awesome. Last night was pretty great too; I spent most of the night in the common room with random people from my dorm playing Wii and watching Christmas movies. But after all this fun stuff, I'm going to have a lot of work to catch up on.

Remember when my friends that split up a few weeks back.. well the girl has started seeing someone already. Which is cool, but I'm still a bit weird about it. She's REALLY happy though. Like she's not a girly girl and not shy or timid at all and to see her get all giddy and nervous is really something.
I met him too, seems like a nice bloke. But I can't tell her ex about it though, so I'm kind of stuck in the middle of things there.. so yeah I'm going to stay well clear of that ticking time bomb..

Also a friend from Brisbane is coming down for the week and he asked if I was interested in going to the Stargate convention that's on next weekend. I hope he goes through with it, as I'm keen to get a photo op with Michael Shanks. It sucks not having geeky friends..

man I hate to be the one to break it to you but that whole freind, ex, new boyfriend thing sounds like it's going to suck for you either way. If he finds out you knew and didn't tell him he'd probbably be pissed too.

I'll tell him to back the fuck up if he goes off at me. Despite coping blunt end of the break up, its not like he's been innocent. I've had the 'you can't tell her about this' chat a couple times.

I just have to tread lightly and hope he doesn't ask. I'm not the best liar :/ Secrecy doesn't do anyone any good.

Just pretend you're trying to cover up that you've become a superhero, but are really bad at hiding that. That way people will be all like wtf dude over that, not anything else.

For tonight's performance, kleptoman will be played by Drew Carey.

So today the production manager was asked to take a pay cut because the boss is struggling making ends meet. Time to jump ship I think :(

Nope. I've been doing this job for 8 years. Its pretty much my first job.. so I haven't a clue where to start.

Apparently we're owed a lot of money from clients, but the boss is too afraid to put a hold on their orders, just in case they decide to go elsewhere and we loose the client. While it would suck to loose the client.. as we can't really afford to loose them, its bullshit. Does any other company do work for free? No I don't think so. The really stupid thing is, that they're not little people they're big multi billion dollar corporations. *mind explosion*

I'm probably not being told the entire story.. I'm the last person to hear shit.. but yeah.. BLOWS SO HARD.

edit:
Just had a look online, saw a job as a tshirt screen printer. Up to a 1k a week. NICE.

man get prepared for the long haul looking for jobs, try and get your centrelink shit sorted out ASAP cause that stuff is a fucking pain.
Also if at all possible, start applying for jobs while you're still employed and try and wait out till you get let go instead of quitting. Centrelink will fuck you in the arse if you lose your job through anything that you had a say in (I got my payments withheld for like 3 months because I'd been fired)

Speaking of jobs, I just got another opportunity to write music for a film, and this one seems to be the best one yet. It's a short film that's already completed filming at Emerson. They're just finishing editing and post production, so I'll get to start work very soon. And with break coming up, I'll have a lot of time to work on it. I'm really excited! I just hope that the film is good and the crew knows what they're doing. It might end up being some sort of self-indulgent drama school crap, but whatever; I need the experience either way.

Hey that's pretty neat Squish. Get your name in the credits and shit.

SO despite a bit of a crap day a mate rang me up and was all "hey bro, I have a spare ticket to the foo fighters tomorrow night, interested?" and then I'm all "Hells yeahhhhhhzz"

TENACIOUS D HERE I COME.. oh yeah & Foo Fighters.. but I'm more stoked for TD. But its a stadium show.. I've never done a stadium show before.. should be interesting.

I met up with the guys who made the short film today. They seem like nice guys. Their movie is their final project for a class; a 2 minute action thing where some people take students in their school hostage. Not the most original or creative thing I've ever seen, but it wasn't that bad. They also came up with some clever ways around the limitations they had in their class and location. Basically, I have to write 3 minutes of music for it by Friday. The tough part will be getting the timing right with the video, but the music itself should be easy enough.

Oh yeah, I also have all of my finals and projects to work on over the course of the week, so with this film, I'll have absolutely no free time... Great... But whatever, it's an important resume builder.

Today I decided I'd try and do a cover of this. Doesn't sound so bad. Might even be fun!

It's simple as that, it's simple as that, it's simple as that for your stupid ass.
