How dreadfully unnecessary.
It is imperative that you read Cal Neuvost's Treatises of Extraordinary Consequence.
Once I sailed out to sea,
I cried: "I must be free!" And yet,
Full was I with regret
When surf cried back with wet decree.

I think I'll be disappointed if Christmas doesn't show "YES" on that page and nothing else.
I'm not really working on anything at the moment, but here's a link to my tumblr anyway.

Progress Report: "NO"
Observations: The site appears to be a simple html document, with no php, shtml, or other sorts of witchcraft. It uses <style> but not in a complicated way. Quite simply, it appears that to change the status to "YES," it would have to be manually encoded and uploaded. If the webmaster dies, Christmas may never come.

Couldn't it be PHP or some other server-side executed script where you wouldn't see the source code. Or there could be a program running on the server that will switch out the HTML pages on the proper day. There has to be something running that updates the RSS anyway so it has to be partially automated.

STARDATE: Monday, December 24, 2007 - 3:13 am
Progress Report: "NO"
Observations: It is late December now, and it still appears to not be Christmas. The crew and I are becoming restless, with some beginning to voice concerns that Christmas may not come at all this year. These dissenters have been taken to the brig, not as punishment, but to prevent panic from surging through the craft's personnel.

These sobering notes aside, many in the crew believe they heard sleigh bells overhead last night, and wait with bated breath for the evening.
