Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, it's that time of year again. It's time to dole out the harshness! The sequel to the Asskickery and the Spinoff Steampunk Duplicity is here! It's that lovely time of year when we create fictional characters and force them to beat the everloving shit of each other. Thought up by Gin herself, we've got a new theme this year.
You get one character this time around and that character has a single weapon or power. You can't beat somebody the same way twice. Say you have a rock as a weapon. Maybe the first time you throw it at their head. The next fight you beat them to death with it. The final one you throw it at a cliffside to cause an avalanche to crush them.
You have the same requirements as last time to enter, that is, you need a character sheet with basic information about your character and their weapon/power. You of course need the entry comic too, just to show that you have the patience to actually finish something this time around.
Rules have changed a bit too, since last year we encountered some problems with people being on time.
RULES:
1. Don't be a dick.
Same rule as every year. Don't be a dick.
2. Your character must be your own creation.
They also cannot be a character from a universe you did not create. Like no Shinigami from Bleach, no having a spy guy from the Buymore.
3. You get one character.
There may be exceptions to this. It'll probably be fine if your creation has a sidekick or advisor who doesn't fight, or if your character is a swarm made up of smaller characters.
4. Don't be late.
If you are more than a full day late, you are disqualified. If neither you nor your opponent turn in something by the due date, you're both disqualified. Don't join if you don't think you can turn things in on time. Plan ahead to get them done early. Work on them the entire time, not right before the deadline.
5. Defeat your opponent in a different way each time.
If you fail to think up a new way to use your weapon or power, the judges will be encouraged to judge particularly harshly.
Story:
Drawn into this tournament by promises of fame, fortune, babes, hunks, and all the s'mores you can eat your characters have made it into Runway City. This city is built up rather than out and is mostly made of massive towers. Cameras will be filming your every move and if you do something that displeases the constant, unrelenting, ruthless audience you're out of the tournament! And maybe dead! WHO KNOWS. In order to keep the attention of the bloodthirsty spectators you're going to have to make sure things keep escalating until you hit the climax: A massive, no holds barred battle royale on top of the tallest tower. While it's on fire! Do you have what it takes to be the greatest fighting hero millions have ever seen on their home televisions? Are you awesome enough to outshine the other competitors not only through combat but through creativity and style? ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO KICK SOMEONE'S ASS ON A TOWER THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE COLLAPSING IN FLAMES?!
Tune in at the end of the month where we meet our competitors.
Good luck, may the best fighter not be eviscerated.
Tell me a story baby.I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
