Well if you really thought Stan Lee was some kind of genius geneticist who had somehow engineered a gene that would mutate people to have laser eyes or the ability to teleport, but decided to draw pictures about it instead of actually doing something about it, you're a bit of a retard.

There are TONNES of books about that Teal, seriously heaps. I completly have spaced on the name though, I'll check around on /co/ tonight for you (Can't exactly visit 4chan at work :P) There are full schematics of like Ironmans suit and all that kind of shit. I've seen one at my local boarders that goes into details about all of Batmans equipments and gadgets.

From memory Sue's invisiblity works by bending and refracting the light around her.

Ultimate Fantastic Four covered this a bit a couple years ago, and admited that if light is going "Through your eye," you'd go blind. This was all to say that Sue's powers are a scienctific mystery.

Bending light is feasible, but only by massive, massive objects like a black hole or a neutron star. "Invisibility" like a cloaking device or somesuch would have to use mirrors, or do something like the car in Die Another Day [where camera's on one side project the image onto the other side].

Anyway, Super hero powers are easier to imagine than they are to explain, so we should stop taking them too seriously and enjoy the stories. That's why Star Wars fans hate Star Wars.

Good stuff. Pretty accurate, too.

Except that I just love the Zahn books, and haven't read any others. I guess I don't quite qualify.

Great article! I'm going through it thinking "Yeah! I love Star Wars ... except that I hate everything he mentioned, which was almost everything."
It is imperative that you read Cal Neuvost's Treatises of Extraordinary Consequence.

I cried: "I must be free!" And yet,
Full was I with regret
When surf cried back with wet decree.

Yeah someone linked me to that the other day (probably in the IRC chat?) It's kinda true, except I actually like (most of) NJO.

I linked it on IRC after finding it on the Team Gizka forums, which is the only other forum I participate in.

I'm sorry I don't live in a place where such books are easily accessible and for a reasonable price. Those things are hard to find, and I don;t have money to buy stuff online just yet.

Heh, I'm doing this for my semester group project actually so I was just wondering about it. The James Bond car trick is called Active Camouflage.

Haha, dude, I live in Australia. Trust me it's just as fucking hard to get stuff here. Yeah, amazon and shit is really the best way to get comic books down here in the southern hemisphere.
