Conscience Cat T-Shirt...

Postby Kevinv85 » Fri Mar 28, 2008 6:47 pm

... has pretty much already been made. Just slap panel four of Friday's comic onto a shirt and sign me up!

For even more awesome, his statements could be made using a writable surface, like the following shirt:

Those bastards stole my idea! :x

Well, I was going to make the shirt out of a cloth version of whiteboard material, so you could write/erase it with ease.

BUT STILL
stock: I also think I'm going to start saying delicious in really inappropriate situations.

I think I should get a Can't Dance shirt. As much as I like the cat, I don't think it would make a great shirt.

I must have such a shirt. I will endure the rest of my life feeling distinctly impoverished if I do not obtain such a shirt. Please!

To be honest the thing I like least about Sam and Fuzzy -especially these days- is all of the made-for-t-shirt lines and characters*. I feel like I'm reading a merchandising vehicle at times.

*The ones that completely disappear after their shirt is sold, like the NDA robot or Dr. Crab.
If I am here every day, I'm just some guy. If I am only here when I'm needed, I am legendary.

Gin, you've got it completely backwards. The tshirts are based on the comics, and not the other way around. Ever.

I mean, honestly! Now we're saying the comic is a "merchandising vehicle" because some of my shirts were based on one-off characters or gags? That doesn't even make any sense! If all I cared about was selling t-shirts, then Dr Crab and the Overkill Robot and Skull Panda and "I'm Communism" wouldn't have disappeared... they would reappear constantly, to keep spurring new interest in their shirt designs!

I know we are all jaded and cynical these days, but please, let's not get too conspiratorial! Comics with stand-alone gags and iconic-looking characters are the ones that translate best into stand-alone, iconic joke t-shirts -- that's all there is to it. Not a trick, not a conspiracy, Scout's honour.

Sam, how could you do that to your fans?

You need to whore out your merch or those whiny sellout arguments flop over like jello. Your smarty-pants fans will be sad :(.

More butcher shirts! More crab shirts! More robot shirts! More Ninja Bunny shirts! WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE OF EACH OMG

Don't forget to pack some Star Trek in there to cover a wider margin of brainless loyal exsisting customer base readers. Maybe some Lord of The Rings and WoW while we're at it.

Oh hey maybe you should start a video game comic.

SECOND GUY: Yup, it sure is.

FIRST GUY: Oh crap the strip is over and we forgot to have a joke!

SECOND GUY: I hate you.
