Noosehead similarities

Postby MrSquishyDBC » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:48 pm

Am I the only one who noticed that every member of Noosehead (with the exception of the triangle player) wears a scarf? Is that the band uniform or something? If so, I've never heard of a metal band that dressed in uniform...

You mean the nooses they all wear? Another similarity would be the lack of noses.

Oh man, those are nooses... not scarfs... Thanks for pointing that out, thanks. That makes a lot more sense...

Again, that goes for everyone EXCEPT the triangle player (can't remember his name right now, but he's the one in the business suit who only says "I play the triangle!").

The basic design "rules" for the members of Noosehead are their height, their matching noose ties and jumpsuits, and their sort of spherical Felix/Mickey-esque heads... white skin, black hair, black (or at least 'empty') eyeballs, no noses, no eyebrows, and no ears. (The triangle player, of course, is totally exempt from all of this, since the whole joke with him is how he looks nothing like the rest of the band.)

That said, when I launched volume 4 I made the decision to redesign Nicole to make her to look more human than the other Noosehead members... mainly because she was going to be romantically involved with Sam and I didn't want them to look too jarring together. So that's why she has a more normal-styled head, with just a few traces of the Noosehead design elements. (As opposed to how she looked in that old drawing Kelso posted.)

As time went on I also tweaked both Nicole and Sid's designs a bit to give them a broader (and subtler) range of facial expressions. Nic and Sid's rolls in the story are a lot heftier than the other, more gag-driven band members, and they needed designs complex enough to handle that.

Does that mean that Malcolm is a little more "disposable?"

I still like Flick (the guy who sets his head on fire) the most. He's awesome.

Malcolm isn't disposable! He just doesn't need a face that can convey a particularly subtle range of emotions. :)

So did Ox always look like a Noosehead dude under the ninja mask or is there some sort of gene therapy he had to go through to get the features?

Lots of makeup I would imagine.

Well I can see subtleties in there . . . all the way from "sort of wigged out" to "totally wigged out".

This brings up an interesting point. Do we know all 13 members yet?

Sid (Lead Vocals)
Nic (Backup Vocals)
Malcolm (Rhythm Guitar)
Flick (Lead Guitar)
Ali (Bass)
Headlock (Drums) Mr. Stix (Drums)
Limbly (Drums)
Dixon (Drums)
Triangle (Triangle)
Looseleaf Sheet of Paper (...)
...

Nope, we're missing the guy who has his head in a cage, the Feedback loop player, and... that other one.
I'm not really working on anything at the moment, but here's a link to my tumblr anyway.

The turntable player with the cage on his head is DJ Freshfoot, and the feedback player with the Bunny mask is Muffins. I don't think I ever came up with a name for the dancing guy with the huge teeth, though.
