Then it would depend.
Most likely it would depend on which world the entire thing took place in . . . for example, if a group of runners slip through a magical crack on Earth and end up on Krynn, then they might find their magic (and any sufficiently sophisticated technological gear) working way differently or not at all while all the Krynn natives are chugging along and casting spells left and right just fine.
But overall it would depend on the GM's ruling.
