Prisoner Zero taunts the Doctor about the source of the cracks in time and space, and warns him that "the Pandorica will open, silence will fall"
River, who after completing her mission is about to be teleported back to her cell in space, tells the Doctor she will see him again when the Pandorica opens (unnerving the Doctor, who claims the Pandorica is just a fairy tale), and that the man she killed was the best man she'd ever known. She is teleported back to the penal starship, with the remaining soldiers.
So was soft-tender Doctor from a future point in his timeline? How did he get here, wouldn’t we have heard another TARDIS appearing and disappearing? Maybe not, especially considering River Song’s revelation earlier in the episode that the TARDIS only makes the noise it does because the Doctor keeps the brakes on. What if he, quite deliberately this time, left them off?
The one thing I’m still holding onto from the original Great Doctor Who Conspiracy post? That the Doctor did actually return to the seven year old Amelia.
