I can't and never have been able to do anything useful. I can like, change some settings and create new subforums, but I can't delete posts and I'm pretty sure I can't ban users. Alright apparently I can do that. Maybe it's more I haven't bothered to figure out how stuff works rather than I can't do it.

Actually there's some settings to make the CAPTCHAs harder that are turned off. Dunno if enabling those would stop spammers at all? The current CAPTCHAs don't appear to be doing much. EDIT: Eh looking at the previews, it also makes it way harder for real people to figure out. I can't even read the letters half the time with the settings enabled.

Well it's pretty easy to tell if you can or not. Do the two circled control options appear on every post when you're viewing the forum? You can delete and ban from within the administration control panel, but it's easiest to just do it right in the thread.


I'm hoping that Mix will be back some day, but I guess it has been five months or more. I'd gladly welcome another mod, but it's not like the spambots right now are unmanageable. On average, it's only like five minutes of work twice a week to clean up their garbage.

I don't have that. I actually found the page in the ACP where it lists your permissions and I seem to have a totally random assortment.

EDIT: Oh and according to last post date it's been 9 months since mix disappeared.

I don't particularly think we need more mods. I mean the forum pretty much takes care of itself since no one here is an asshole. Probably just need to upgrade to a newer version of phpBB or install some anti-spam mods.

If Kelso thinks there should be help with the spam clearance I don't see why we shouldn't. It has nothing to do with keeping members in line.

I think the rules are be nice, and don't spam. I think the role of the mods is to stop spambots and try to stop any fights that break out, and stop people pissing each other off to much. I think the second bit is fairly important, although that doesn't happen too often around here.

You see that post up there called Ninja Law? Those are the rules. Been there the whole time. There's a similar post at the top of every subforum too.
