One of my absolute favorite authors! :D If you want to read something else by him, (and nothing else is really as well known as The Man Who Was Thursday, so you might not hear about these unless you actually go looking) I would recommend Manalive, or The Napoleon of Notting Hill.
Are you listening to Harmontown?

I've only ever read half of one of his books, can't remember what it was called but there were a whole bunch of writers locked in a house together and they all started doing decrepit shit. It was one of the worst books I have ever read, and I couldn't even finish it.

His books arn't for everyone sure but if you don't like the theme's that doesn't mean it's a bad book. If you can get past the 'decrepit shit' they usualy have pretty touching human stories in them.
You should give Lullaby a shot, it doesn't really have much of the horrible sexual depraved shit in it, it's also in my opinion his best book.

Been reading Kingdom of Fear by Hunter S. Thompson.

I've known of him for ages and the whole Gonzo style of jouranlisim, seen fear and loathing etc but never actually read one of his books. It's fascinating in the fact that it has no real narrative, he will start telling a story then get completely distracted by something else and spend 3 pages on it, only to get back to the original story that never ends up going anywhere. It would be irritating if his writing wasn't so damm charismatic. I haven't really read much non-fiction but shit, just reading him tell stories makes me want to go out for a beer with the dude... or maybe behind bulet proof glass cause he is kind of insane...

Fantastic read, highly recommend it.

Read The Joke's Over by Ralph Steadman. It's basically his life story through the eyes of the Robin to Thompson's Batman.

I just found out via Twitter that author Brandon Sanderson likes Sam & Fuzzy. Totally bizarre. I love his books, I'm super pumped for Way of Kings. Anyone else read his stuff?

Just finished reading Shades of Grey.
Started off pretty slow, setting up the world and shit, was kind of difficult to read at the beginning, but then the plot really kicks in and it's great. Real page turning stuff and then it ends. The plot really only kicks in like 5 chapters from the end though and then it's over really suddenly. Of course it's set up for the next two books but still kind of bugs me.

Jasper Fforde is quickly becoming my faviourte writer though, the new Thursday Next is out in febuary so I can't wait for that.
