yea i saw some stuff about it. i is fucked up but at least the heavy damage is mostly confined to northeast japan. relative to the whole island nation being wiped out i mean. they have really strict building codes and emergency routines for stuff like this too so the death toll isnt going to be as high as it couldve been. havent heard about anything hitting the us or canada.

I think the the warnings for Australia and New Zealand have been lifted, and pretty sure Canada is too high up, but it's forecasted to hit Hawaii at 8 am ET and the US west coast from 10 am ET to 11 am ET. I haven't heard about South America.

I saw some videos on the news, and it's ridiculous. They really have it bad. First an earthquake, then the earthquake triggers a tsunami, then the tsunami damages their nuclear power which is now threatening to leak radiation.

not really. gilbert gottfried has always done shock humor. i mean he managed to do 9/11 jokes a couple of years after it happened (still early for most people though) and still managed to pull off the routine.

sometimes in horrific events people need to make jokes to cope with it and detach. tho this can show how twitter is a bad format for shock jokes mainly cose it is barely days after the tragedy when people are still in shock/could get worse with nuclear meltdown and twitter is very public.

Just like to point out, that this is a huge difference in culture. Over here, anything is game pretty much right after it happened? Remember the austrian guy with the secret basement that he hid his family in? The same week jokes were being made on that all over tv.

Making light of something bad is one thing. Who doesn't laugh when someone falls over? But blatant flaming of something so terrible is a pretty poor act.
