I recently watched Perfect Blue and was drawn in. If you enjoy psycho-thriller anime, then I would strongly recommend this anime.

The rape scenes were pretty eye opening for me.. It was one of the first anime's (when I knew what anime was) I've watched having only seen the likes of Akira & Porco Rosso.. It would have been a good 12 years ago.. I would have been 15.. really not that young when I think about it, but the first time seeing such emotional & graphical distress depicted in cartoon form.

Perfect Blue was one of those movies I watched and was obsessed with when I first discovered anime (Along with Akira, Ghost in the shell and Spriggan)
Honestly none of them have held up that well IMO.
Perfect Blue suffers from not really needing to be animated. It just seems pointless.

It's looking less and less likely that Madoka Majika is going to have an even remotely happy ending.

Is Madoka really that good? I've been hearing a lot of things about it. "This decade's Evangelion" type things.

It's a show based entirely around deception. Things start of as you might expect from a show with the same art style as Hidamari Sketch, but by episode two you realize this is definitely not a children's magical girl show. By five, things are pretty grim. By episode eight you realize just how friggin' bad the situation actually is. I'd say more, but I'm probably giving away too much of the surprises as is it. I do recommend watching it though, it is surprisingly good. And the art style for the witches is crazy.

Started watching a series called Xam'd Lost Memories.. I'm only 6 episodes in and its pretty slow, but when the action pics up its pretty decent. Its still all pretty cryptic.. Nothing has really been explained much.

The corrupt bit might not have been the ddl's fault.
The sub group has put out a a V2 because of that. If you still have the corrupt one you downloaded, try running the file patch to see if that fixes it.

It could be the player.
Is it an .mkv? I have trouble playing .mkv's in VLC. I use a player called zoomplayer for my .mkv's. Xam'd is mkv and in VLC it plays the first 5min then freezes. If you hit play again it starts over. But if you jump forward up the timeline past the freeze point it continues to play. WEIRD.
