Is that really an outrage? No government should have to give money to any institution that does not believe in the validity of said government. Even so, would any organization take money from a government it doesn't acknowledge as legitimate?

No where does it say that any Arab institution that exists in Israel won't receive government funding. It's only the groups that don't think the government is legitimate. Should Obama provide funding for an organization that doesn't believe he's an American, and therefore, is not legitimately the President? Should Gadhaffi give the rebels weapons?

It doesn't even make it illegal to think that the government is illegitimate. It simply makes it so that the Israeli government doesn't have to fund the activities of those groups. If they want to protest, protest. They just shouldn't be expecting the government to encourage it.

I dunno, sounds super fishy. The fact of the matter is that anyone living under that roof should be protected, whether or not they accept funding is on them. Oh, and imprisoning people based on the observance of an event is absurd. This isn't a fair or reasonable bill. Hell, the way you described it made it sound childish, "oh, you don't like us? Well fuck you."

The current version of the law is more moderate than the original, which called for prison sentences for anyone holding Nakba memorial events.

When you are trying to pass laws to imprison people for holding a day of mourning you're a fascist. There's no two ways about it.
