Well, we never saw Eight regenerate, so maybe his old age would just fit naturally into his timeline become he's just aged. Plus McGann still looks pretty good. Plus, when they had Peter Davison come back they made up the idea that when Five's and Ten's timeline's crossed it made Five age as though his timeline had kept going without him regenerating so it could be done. Honestly though, I don't think any of the old Doctors are coming back, it'll just be the old set.

I lol'd so hard, man. I can totally picture Moffet just sitting there saying something like that.

Haha yeah pretty much. The great thing about the Silence is they can very very easily retcon them into EVERYTHING EVER and have it still work.

Yeah showing 8 go into 9 would be pretty awesome since we never saw it on screen. I somehow seriously doubt that's going to happen though.

They're probably all throughout Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures too. Clearly the only solution is to rewatch everything.

Right at the beginning as they're panning across the junkyard . . . the Silent is wearing a trenchcoat. He dances into the frame, flashes the camera, and then dances back off camera.

You'd think people would have noticed something like that before, but y'know. Perception filters.

I never saw it... mind you, the version i was looking at sucked more balls then Captain Jack. (olol gay jokes are funny, rite?)

Contains Episode 2 spoilers. You have been warned.
Spoiler: show
The conspiracy theory was bang on then. And I had been wondering wether this really was the end of the Doctor, and they would finish on Matt Smith. I guess not. Also, I really want to see a series or two where the Doctor is a little girl.

Holy balls

Spoiler: show
What makes you say the conspiracy theory was spot on? All they did was show points where people had mentioned the Silence before, nothing about them appearing off-screen in earlier eps. It didn't prove anything one way or another.

I don't think they were implying that the Doctor turns into a little girl at some point. I think it's more that she is also a Time Lord. Possibly the Doctor's future daughter, probably Amy's future daughter who somehow gained Time Lord powers.

Ok that makes more sense. Also, do we really think Matt smith will be the last doctor? Will this new one take over? Speculations?

Spoiler: show
There is basically no way Matt Smith is going to be the last Doctor. I never thought that was true, the only mystery is how they're going to explain away what we saw in last weeks episode.

I really hope you guys unspoiler all that tomorrow... cause, you know, the whole point of this having its own chat was so that things didn't have to be in spoilers the whole time

Fer serious, yo. I do my best to avoid this thread completely when there's a new episode out but I haven't yet had a chance to see it. I think probably the first post somebody makes about a new episode should have a big warning kind of like what Klepto did above, but any posts past that, if folks are reading without having seen said episode yet, then it's their own damn fault for getting spoiled, innit.

So! Anyway!

Very well done, very good "conclusion" to this little plot, and extremely creepy! There's plenty of stuff that's odd but still can be kind of reckoned into what we already know or at least guessed out given the circumstances. For example, the girl is pretty obviously supposed to be Amy's child put into some kind of weird temporal and/or probability flux, of course. But what in the hell was up with that lady with the futuristic eye in the door slot? That was just weird. Good weird, but still. Weird.

Still hating River. And if she's gonna be all smoochy face with the Doctor from now on, then I can only see my already dim view of her continuing to go downhill. Really, I liked Rose, and I liked Martha, and I'm one of the few people who didn't actually mind seeing them try to get it on with him, but even I'm starting to get really sick of every single character with a guy-centered sexuality trying to get in his pants. Seriously, Doctor Who writers. You can stop now.

Speaking of trying to get into some guy's pants . . . man, Rory sure cleans up well, doesn't he? Maybe he needs to wear the brainy specs more often. I'm just sayin'.

I've now watched the episode twice (WHAT OF IT) and it was good. It wasn't as amazing as the first episode, but I guess that's how things go. I love that Canton is Gay, and in love with a black man. I honestly had no idea as why he would be kicked out of the FBI.

I am hating that they didn't explain creepy eye lady in the slightest. And I wish they would go find more about the little girl who is almost certainly Amy's daughter, but then the series would be over next week...

Oh right, just remembered: Y'know, I was all set to be all "Oh gahdammit!" about the resurfacing of the whole love triangle mess again, and I am so glad that it was just a fakeout. Hopefully this has been the final nail in the coffin of that ridiculous little plotline.
