Not sure if it would actually be possible to do it in a game. The way I'm doing it kind of relies on the fact that it's all pre-rendered and I know the exact position of his face in each frame.
I spose you could have a flat on 2D animation mapped to be projected on his face? Would love to see it.

ok so I've been fucking around doing nothing for way too long, I'm setting myself a deadline to have all the keyframing done by the end of the month.
Also I threw together this, basically me throwing ideas around for how I want to get it to look in the end.
This is just the plain render

and this is some of the direction I want to head in with after effects and shit.

Would have all the smoke etc animating in 2D, I want to get the character to cast godrays. Wich I'm pretty sure I can do with a plug in in After effects, also going to be animating rubble and shit in 2D.

I think if you're going to outline the smoke, you should do all of it (the stuff coming out of the chimney as well). Also maybe use a thinner line, it's a little overbearing at the moment.

shit there should have been an outline around the stuff coming out of the chimney too, must have accidentally turned off that layer before I saved the pic.
I see what you mean about the thinner line though. (The chimney smoke had a much thinner line)

well was like two days late to getting it finished by the end of the month, but have all the key framing finished, I've spcaed it out to render on twos so the timing looks weird and there's lots of feet going through the floor wich I will need to sit around and clean up for ages, but now I'm rendering what I have done... so that's gonna take a while.

Nice. Have you thought about music to go with it at all?

well bronze offered to do up some music for it ages ago and then kind of dissapeared into the nether.

I really haven't put a terrible amount of thought into the sound at all to be honest. Originally I was planning to have a pretty sparse sound similar to mirrors edge mainly foccusing on breathing and shit but that was an idea I had way back when I was just htinking about it. After that I haven't really thought about it at all.

I would offer up my musical services, though it depends on what you're looking for. The one thing I don't really have the resources for is rock music. If you want anything with lots of guitars and drums and such, I'm probably not the best guy to ask.

Nah don't really want rock music or anything, if anything at the moment I'm thinking of something more like the music in minecraft, just something really soft and atmospheric playing behind the sound effects.

That said, I really don't want to ask anyone for music untill I'm atleast finished with the main animation. I feel like I'm too likely to ask for someones help and then everything falls through. That and my PC died over the weekend so untill I can get everything fixed up I'm not sure where I actually stand on what I have. I think the hard drive should be fine but if not I'm going to need to re-animate again
