Tripple J is a radio station here in aus. Back when I was in highschool (Like 15 years ago?) they started a competition called unearthed where a bunch of unsigned local acts sent in demos and they'd play them on the radio and the winner I think got to play at the big day out (Massive australian festival) the whole thing has just been growing and growing (a lot of big australian bands have come through Unearthed these days) they started a website a couple of years back where any unsigned band could upload there music, they'd play a lot of that music on the radio in between there more regular stuff. Today they opened a second radio station Triple J unearthed that plays nothing but unsigned indie australian music 24/7. It's pretty rad and I'm pumped as hell.

you crazy foreigners can listen to it through there website.

The quality of the music on there is just mind blowing. I used to trawl through the site a bit but lost my list of faviourtes so gave up. Can't wait to have someone else trawl through it and play good stuff for me. Seriously considering grabbing a digital radio for my car or somethings.

Never heard of the Wombats, but that's dope that you got free tickets.

The only Wombats song I've heard is "Let's Dance to Joy Division," but it's so damn good I'm a little jelly of your free tickets.

Boosh.

You'd be surprised how many songs of theirs you've probably heard. I was. I do hope they play that joy division one though..

It's all pretty catchy stuff, that would thrive on commercial radio.. 80% of their new album is a 'hit single'..

I like this one:

I'm going to need ear plugs just for the crowd when this one starts up:

Owl Eyes and Faker are supporting so it should be a good night. There's going to be so many kids.. SO. MANY. KIDS.

One of my favourite desert rock/stoner rock bands, and I only discovered them shortly after discovering "The Sword".

Like daft punk?

It's all written in the ancient scrolls of Vectron, by Vectron himself in the first age of Vectron!...

Er.. WOW.

Great song.. wasn't expecting the story to go like that though.

Yesterday I was an electronic music festival.. whole bunch of not well know artists like Bon Chat Bon Rat, Ghost Poet, Mitzi, Tiger & Woods and SBTRKT headlined. They all played FULL sets lasting about an hour or more.. and then there was a kid from Canada called Lunice.

This is one of his more tamer tracks..

This kid goes off. My mate organised the festival so he hung out with the guy a bit. CONSTANTLY SMOKING WEED.
We went to an after party where he was doing a set at 1am.. I got to hang back stage with him and his manager, doing what? Smoking weed of course. They lit up twice in the 20mins we were out there then after the cops did the rounds in the club at 2 he lit up again on stage.. How he managed to keep it together is crazy.
It was fun being part of the posse.. we were side of stage & free drinks. It was pretty great.
