Dragon Watching Club of Skyrim

Postby Kelso » Sun Nov 13, 2011 2:26 pm

A dedicated Skyrim topic, since it's all I'm going to be talking about for the next few weeks, and it'll clutter up the gaming thread with all the other good stuff coming out soon.

I just fast traveled to a mining town and got ganked by two dragons. Two. Stayed long enough to watch all the villagers catch fire before I reloaded an earlier save. It's probably because I'm level 22, but 90% of that is pickpocket and sneak points. I'm getting a bit overwhelmed.

Yeah fuck dragons.

While we may have said 'yeah this game is awesome it has dragons' yeah, no.
You can't escape those fuckers. I read somewhere that they're infinite.. And you always have to fight one when you don't want to. Fuck dragons.

I'm level 17 at the mo. Mostly archery, one handed combat and sneak.. Delving into smithery and enchantment when I can't upgrade the other 3. Should do some destruction magic too as I use fire enough.

I've found once you've let fly those first few arrows and you don't kill them, i'm discovered, and then its all eat fire and steal bitch.

I love taking out foes with one arrow though, especially skele's. I like how they fall to bits. I don't like how the bodies go flying though.. I'm like.. Okay I know I took a guy out here.. Oh there he is. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM.
Slopes are the worst though. I killed a troll while walking backwards up a slope and when it died, its body slid all the way back down, and I'm like "Hey! Get back here corpse, i've yet to loot you!"

haha speaking of people falling off cliffs. I met this guy on the road and he's all like "UH! Bandits attacked my cart, please escort me back to safety" so I was like "Yeah ok" walk him back to his camp on the edge of this cliff, and he's like "AHA! ANOTHER ONE FELL FOR IT!" and they all killed me.

so I'm like

"fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

next time.

He's all like "Uh bandits attac..."
and I'm like 'whatever bitch' and walk past him, sneak into the camp, kill everyone without being detected. Go back to talk to him
"Uh bandits?"
"Yeah yeah whatever lets go"
So I follow him back to his camp, and he attacks me (Doesn't even notice his dead friends) so I start fighting him and back him up to a cliff. I keep hitting him then I remember my shout.

Use my shout, send him flying off the cliff and watch him as he ragdolls all the way down.

I don't even give a shit that I can't loot him.

I am now a level 100 pickpocket. I can steal the pants off a man as he walks down the street. Hilarity ensues.

AMAZING.. I will try this.

Trekked to Riften this arvo. Had to kill a dragon along the way, he wasn't so tough though.. Joined the thieves guild. I really liked sneaking around the house. That was fun. Reminded me of Thief. If only I had a bow with fire arrows to light those beehives up from afar.

Also while swimming around in the lake I found a heap of slaughter fish eggs, yet no slaughterfish.. weird. Caught me a heap of salmon and those smaller guppy types.. even nabbed a few dragon flies. Also if you wait till night head outside of town and there be a few fireflies and moths about.

I've also started looting books (which is a good thing as I got a side quest to collect a set of books). If I can loot it without stealing I'll take it. I can't remember all the names of them so I end up with heaps of doubles.. I wish I had more bookshelves in my house.. I haven't got the patience to manually do it.

Also if you've found an unusual gemstone.. its like levitating in a gold box.. Vex can analyse it for you. I can't remember where I picked up the first one.. it was in a dungeon somewhere.. I found another on the Jarl's side table in Dragonsreach. There's 24 of them.

All that for a FREAKING DAGGER! I better get to shank you with it later bitch.. If not, I do it anyway.

Also just for kicks I thought I'd flick on ultra quality. On first run it automatically detected my hardware and set it to high. I've been playing for a few ours and haven't noticed much difference.. if anything perhaps a slightly longer load time.. but I'm talking maybe 5sec. but no chugging or nothing. I'll flick it back though as I can't really notice the difference and no use pushing my pc harder for no reason.

I did the same. Normal dragons are so much easier than blood dragons. It was in the middle of no where, so I was pretty comfortable fighting it, although it may have killed some hunters having a bath in the hotsprings. Of course right after it went down, I could see another flying around in the distance. I was worried it was going to be too close to town, so I took the chance to fast travel back and just took a carriage to Riften.

I can't remember where I picked up the first one.. it was in a dungeon somewhere..

I found one in the place with the skeletons in whiterun.

So yesterday I decided to find this little castle that I heard you get detect life at. It's near the little town near the graybeards place. So I set out on my treck and FUCKING DRAGON!.

I pelt it with a couple of arrows then run back to town and get help from the guards killing it. Steal it's soul and head back out, and FUCKING DRAGON!

... seriously are you shitting me? So I hide under a bridge and wait for it to piss off, keep exploring and find a castle, sneak around it and get to the top and FUCKING BLOOD DRAGON!

... dude really? So I hide in the tower pelting it with arrows through a little hole that it can't reach me, get to the top and it lands on the ground and forgets it can fly while I stand at the top of the tower slowly whitling it's health down with arrows. Kill it steal it's soul and find a new word for 'marked for death' that reduces enemies armour and health by 20% (Fucking suhweet) keep exploring and find an old nord burial ground with these really strong Drugars, one pops out and I fire my sneak attack 3x damage arrow at it and it's health barley moves. "Well fuck" I think, untill..... FUCKING BLOOD DRAGON!

... oh for fucks sake....

I pelt the blood dragon with arrows to get its attention, then I pelt the zombie dude with arrows to get it's attention, lead them both back to a little building I can take cover in and just sit back and watch them kill eachother while I pelt the dragon with arrows from the window. The dragon killed the drugar, and I killed the dragon with it's tiny bit of health left, killed another copule of drugars through dedicated fucking with their AI making them run up and down this hill while I kept jumping the ledge and pelting them with arrows. So I go back to looking for this castle, find a bandit camp, kill everyone inside and FUCKING DRAGON!

FUCK... RIGHT OFF DRAGON! I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR YOUR BULLSHIT!

So I hide again and wait for it to pass, then finnally finally I find the castle I was looking for. get a quest, slit some throats, get tome of detect life.

If you're playing a thief Phill I highly reccomend it. The castle ended up being here and their's a little camp outside that has the dude who gives you the quest in it.
