oh bitch you did not just come out against Hateoful Boyfriend?

So anyway, started playing torchlight. This game is hilarious. I mean I knew it was going to be simmilar to diablo, what with the ex diablo guys working on it etc. I didn't expect it to actually be diablo. Just with a different skin. Seriously, identifiy scrolls, scrolls of town portal. This is diablo with a skin pack on it.

Also completly awesome

So it turns out I can play Skyrim. But I'm still not going to. For now. After it detected my video setup, it automatically switched to the lowest quality video settings. Even though it wasn't ugly lookin' or anything, it was soooooooo chooooooppyyyyyyyy. So I'm just gonna wait until I get my new video card to actually join y'all over in the Skyrim thread.

I was about to buy Jagged Alliance Back in Action.. until I discover that its a remake of Jagged Alliance 2.. which while was a fantastic game.. I've already finished it. Twice. Despite its new fancy skin.. I'm not that keen to play it for the 3rd time.

Soooo I have a copy of Melty Blood AACC for the pc and it is amazing. If you can find a crack of it, (or want to buy Carnival Phantasm boxed set season 3 that is comes with) I suggest it because its a really solid fighting game. Its also got online so that's always a bonus.

so more on torchlight, is this game supposed to be so retardedly easy? I'm rocking an alchemist and it's just so retardedly simple to walk through the dungeons and just spank everyone. My pets (4 demons, 2 skeletons,1 Golem and a Lizard) pretty much do all my work for me. I have more money then I know what to do with, my gear outlevels everything in the stores...

It's just really really easy.

Kingdom of Amalur demo is out, it's like this weird cross between Oblivion, Mass Effect and God of War.

Also, kind of awesome.

Sequence in hard mode (not the hardest but second to hardest mind you) can be mind-numbingly infuriating at times. I think that the system is pretty fun, but it is pretty stressful at times when every fight you do is on a time limit and the fact that most of the enemies patterns are really hard to read or just stupid. Not to mention that the length of the songs are super fucking varied.
I'm actually enjoying the story, It's got that eerie World of Darkness/lovecraftian feeling to it at some points and I love it. Even the voice acting works though I had to get used to the ever unsurprised that is Ky.

The game is fun and I get got to the 5th floor. The 4th floor guardian was such a hard fight. The guardian powers seem to come out at random and that is a tad annoying. I also get annoyed at the fact that I have to use my xp to craft items and I might not even get items for killing the monsters. Why I am grinding in a rhythm game for loot? I dunno.

Definitely worth the 1.50 dollar I paid for it though lol. Probably worth 5 for sure.

Oh I should probably mention the music lol. I enjoy this genre of music, but it's hit or miss I feel. MY favorite song by far is Throwing Fire. because it sounds EXACTLY like a song that Ratatat would make, I also like it because it is 5 minutes long making the fight on it sooooo much easier.

EDIT: fuck it I am linking the song, It's so good lol.

I completed Sequence on whatever the default difficulty is, and that's good enough for me. I've accomplished everything to be accomplished in it, but I don't see myself going back to it just to play as a straight rhythm game. It's quality all around though. In particular, I was continually impressed by the quality of the voice acting (witty banter helped too), so it surprised me that the voice for Ky was the actual programmer, writer, and by the sound of it only person that works for "Iridium Studios". The rest all seem to be professional voice actors though. The end credits give an interesting little podcast type thing where they talk about the people involved. Also where to download the songs.

But yeah, the time limits are frustrating, especially on the early floors. Often you'll simply run out of time in a battle, which is an automatic loss. On the flip side, when you have to complete a song to learn a new spell, 3 minutes is excruciatingly too long. And that piano song is no fun at any time. You'll know it when you come to it.

Apparently it's also available on XBox Live? It must be buried deep in the Indie Market place, because it's good enough that I should have heard of it before otherwise.

I'm really hoping for a sequel, rhythm game or otherwise, just to get some closure on the story.

So turns out the only thing holding me back from slaughtering entire towns full of people in skyrim is that it's actually kind of difficult.

Giving a game that is essentially set out like skyrim but having action controlls of a god of war type game means it took me about 5 minutes from finding the first village in the kingdom of amular demo to killing everyone. And it's easy too. I mean Skyrim and Oblivion teach you not to do that early in the game cause if you try it when you first get their you're going to get your arse handed to you. So by the time you get up to a level were you can murder entire towns you're used to nto doing it.

I was level 2 when I murderd the entire town in Amular, it wasn't even hard either. The guards didn't stand a chance.

You also can't kill certain NPCs in Skyrim, they just won't die. That's my least favourite part of the game.

It's similar, but skyrim had really weird choices for who was immortal and who wasn't. (Random racist dude in windhelm is immortal? old lady from the battle-born is imortal? These aren't exactly crucial npc's?) This seems to be only the characters vital for the main plot are imortal. And even then they go down when you hit them enough and stay down, but after about a minute they get up again. I found one guy in the town who was immortal.
