I'm generally not too interested in art books. If they were actual comics with like, a story or jokes, I would totally consider it. But as just a bunch of random pictures I think I'll pass.

Because I find it incredibly boring? If webcomics were all just whatever random picture the artist felt like drawing that day without any dialogue/humor/plot, would you keep coming back to look at them?

This was in reply to tekk's post.. forgot to quote..

But this isn't a webcomic.. it doesn't have any purpose other than being a collection of an artists work.. just like owning a book on Picasso or something..

Right, I was just explaining why I have no interest in it since I thought your post was in response to me. I have no interest in a book of Picasso's art either.

Neither do I.. but just saying.. art books are more a piece of reference than entertainment.

Like personally I have numerous art books on designer toys. To me it's like owning a catalogue of what people have made as having a collection of the actual things is almost impossible.

Oh man, I love looking at pictures. I have bookmarks dedicated to that very thing.

It's simple as that, it's simple as that, it's simple as that for your stupid ass.

This is why I am an artist and you are a programmer.

I dunno, I mean I'm all for having big art prints/posters for my wall as decoration. But just having them in a book doesn't seem that interesting. Like yes I'd like to look at them, but not enough that I'd want physical books laying.

You should get it though if that's your thing. Those four artists are all super cool peoples.

I'm gonna kind of second Aggers here. That looks pointless to me.

I love art books but I love it when an established series puts out an art book showing all the workings, rough ideas etc behind the finished project.
For example I have The Art of Hellboy and it's awesome, it's not just pinups and prints, it's all the rough sketches, the ideas he had for the character, the original designs, then it has pages from the book when they are just pencils, pages after they've been inked but not digitised so you can see the actual paint brush strokes instead of just the solid black. It's an awesome look at not only the awesome art but how he actually makes it. From what I can tell on that it looks like they'll just be books of finsihed artwork prints?

Also KC Green? The dudes fucking hilarious but he's not a guy I follow for his art.

Haha, that came off way more pretentious than I intended it, sorry!

What I mean is that for you they're just pictures to look at, but I see it as some cutting edge stuff in my career field. So it carries more weight. I think that makes sense?

In case anyone hasn't been checking fanboys, or would like to start getting into it, it seems an interesting new arc started a little while ago. It starts here.
