Guh, things have been sucking lately. I've been really bored and lazy and I'm sick of a lot of the people I see regularly. Even the people who I consider my closer friends have been getting on my nerves. And this is pretty bad because I need to figure out housing for next year. I could always live alone, but I'm not sure if I want to. And that's more expensive.

Last night I saw the band Jukebox the Ghost perform, and they were so amazing. I even got to meet the pianist afterwards and thank him for being such an important musical inspiration for me. He signed my ticket and even wrote a note saying "Good luck with your music!" which was really fantastic.
I think I'm gonna channel the general boredom and angst of this semester into making better music and being productive. I want to make myself a plan and try to get a start on gigging or recording an album. I might even be able to find a music industry major to be my manager.

Umm so I went to Laneway festival last Sunday.. I don't remember much of it. I wasn't really that drunk.. but I was under the influence of weed and half a tab of acid.. I don't really condone drugs.. but it was offered and I had never done acid before so I thought what the hell...
..and honestly doing drugs at a music festival is a waste of money. I missed out on seeing Active Child, Chairlift and Feist because we just sat around in a daze which felt like half an hour, but was actually 2-3 hours.
However the trip was pretty surreal. I was centre crowd watching The Drums when it kicked in. I found a picture of the show and messed with it to kind of describe what it looked like..

The palm tree above the stage looked like this 6 legged palm tree creature too.. then someone bumped me and I snapped out of it. I did manage to check out Glasser, Yuck and SBTRKT though..

But this leads me to a discovery I've made.. My mate has been hitting the drugs a lot since his gf (my other friend) broke up with him.. like he was always a pothead but she cleaned him up pretty good.. He seems sensible enough that he won't get carried away.. I think he's reached a stage where he's getting over her and is embracing his new found freedom..

Did stand up at an open mic last night for the first time. It went pretty well. It was mostly about vaginas and how they are weird. People love to laugh about vaginas.

Dude, vaginae are comedy gold. Any chance we could see some clips of the stand up? The video was fantastic. Quality camera, good editing, hilarious concept. Hell, I'd believe it was a legit commercial. Good work!

Also, FUN FACT! I didn't know that "vaginae" was the plural of "vagina." The more you know!

So my folks just gave me fantastic news. They are talking about buying a house to negative gear. They want me to live in it. Sure I have to pay rent and utilities but OH FUCK YES.

I've been looking around to buy a place myself, but on my wage.. it's just not possible, unless I want to live literally in a shoebox. SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW

I have Monday classes off this week so I came home to see my family and de-stress. It's a much needed break, and I already feel way better. I'm hoping that I can bring this energy back to Boston.

I have a bit of exciting music news. All the details are on my tumblr in case you're interested, but here's the tl;dr

1. I could end up with a professionally recorded single
2. I have my largest and longest show scheduled for later in March
3. There's a slim to none, but nonetheless possible, chance that I could open for an international recording artist, one you guys would recognized because they've been discussed here, when they come to my hometown. The thought enough is motivation to work hard and practice my ass off.
