So ... that Seth Macfarlane movie with Mark Wahlberg and a sentient teddy bear has a trailer out.

I don't know ... it looks like it could be kind of funny. I'm going to be steaming the whole time though ... we could have a live action Sam and Fuzzy but instead we get Mark and Ted.

I finally saw Tangled. It's fuckin' tight! I knew it was going to be a good film from what everyone I respected told me, but man oh man did it shatter my expectations. The evil mother, the Ezio wannabe, even the horse! Best animated film I've seen in quite some time.

Just finished watching Immortals. I'm pretty sure at this point that no one in the filmmaking industry really knows what the Titans actually were.

Or anything else about Greek mythology, for that matter.

Is it really, Ben? Is it really?

But in all seriousness, it looks fantastic. It seems like there's going to be quite a lot of good nerd properties coming out this summer. You've got Avengers then the new G.I. Joe, which actually looks good, and of course the next Batman movie.

I mean, sure there's going to be Battleship and what's probably going to be a bummer of a Spider-man movie, but ...

Underworld Awakening was quite possibly the worst movie I have ever watched.

I went and saw it purely just to see Kate Beckinsale in tight leather again.

Saw The Hunger Games tonight... eh. Felt too kiddy.. well kind of like the witch and wardrobe.. Geared for kids.. despite the killings. Then there was the romance.. geez.. The there was Lenny Kravitz. FUCKING LOL. What gets me is how can this world exist? How can a revolt in the sectors not have torn this society down? You would think after 74 years the 'sacrifice' would have been abandoned. Especially using innocent children. Using criminals as entertainment for the rich would make more sense ala Death Race.

While I did enjoy myself I prefer Battle Royale over this. 3/5

The Hunger Games world is not terribly well thought out.

Also after 74 years you'd think the citizens/slaves would stop having babies.. IT MAKES NO SENSE

Really? You think so? I don't think people would stop having babies. Not ALL the children are killed in the Hunger Games, just a few. And it's not like in the real world people who are poor or live in horrible places stop having kids.

As for there not having been revolt already, there probably has been, but the Capitol has such overwhelming technological advantage that it would get crushed immediately. It's like 1800s era tech vs crazy space ships and lasers. Also part of the point of the Hunger Games was to keep the districts in competition with each other instead of with the Capitol. This stuff is not made as clear in the movie because you can't hear Katniss's thoughts.
