Explaining the source of the powers would add absolutely nothing to the movie except diluting it, sorry. That's not the point of the story; the origin of the powers was just a means to the end.

I guess. But the whole crystal thing with the weird tentacle things in it.. I wanted to know more.. I was just left wondering.

So I saw MIB3 tonight with some friends. It wasn't as bad as some have claimed, and I liked it more than I thought I would. It certainly isn't a great movie, but it wasn't terribly bad either.

Just finished watching Griff the Invisible. Man this was heaps cute. Filmed in Sydney too as I recognise some places. 4/5

Super 8 - Following these kids was great. Focusing the story on their experience rather than the alien thing getting all the attention was nice. 3/5

Saw The Darkest Hour, it seemed like an absolutley brilliant movie monster with really interesting rules and all that shit, stuck in a bog average horror movie. Kind of a shame to have such a brilliant idea wasted.

We at least knew its motive. In Chronicle all we got was just a weird tentacle crystal thing. Was it an alien? Some kind of meteorite with weird powers? Nothing. We don't even know how they got out of the ground.. There was a gap in the story which irked me.

And we know that there is a glowy crystal thing that gives you super powers.

That's all you need to know for the story. The movie wasn't about a magical crystal and it's origins to give you psycic powers. It was just about what that kind of power does to these kids.

Life cycle of the alien, poison, infect someone, infected someone fucks someone, fucked someone gives birth to face hugger, face hugger grows FUCKING X-BOX HUGE for no reason with no source of food, face hugger infects another alien, other alien skips chest buster sequence of growth and gives birth to a full formed xenomorph.

that's just... stupid. Also the black good that turns what I'm guessing were worms into dick snakes? How does that work? So worms get to turn into giant super strong fuck you creatures with acid blood that instantly regrow there own heads. That... doesn't make any sense.

Also why the fuck, when finding a giant alien body on an alien world, does the biologist of the team go "Fuck it I'm out" why the fuck did you think you were there you dumb cunt, you're a fucking biologist in space, that kind of fucking implies dealing with aliens

Also sorry, btu making a movie explicitly to not explain anything makes your movie stupid. It doesn't make it vauge and intersting and intriguing. It just makes it irritating. Old sci-fi greats left mystery sure. But this movie didn't just leave msyeries, it gave enough explination that it didn't feel like leaving mysteries, it felt like they just are only half explaining anything.

It wasn't a fully formed Xenomorph. Giant Face-Huggers make giant Chest-Bursters. It was probably a fledgling Queen.

So MIB3 wasn't that bad. Not terribly great either, but it still felt like an MIB film, even though it seems that they "lost" something in the film that I can't put my finger on. Definitely wasn't worth the price I paid to see it with friends in Ultra AVX, but it was better than I expected. 3/5
