I've seen the lights go out on broadway

(Expect to hear that Billy Joel song a lot in the next little while)

Why, are you asking, was the Sam and Fuzzy website down all day? Well, although I live in Victoria, BC, Canada, Sam and Fuzzy live on a server in sunny New York, New York, and as you may have heard, a massive power outage hit a huge chunk of central Canada and the eastern USA today.

Since the site is back up now, I guess power must be restored in parts of New York, at least. I never like it when my website is down, but it's difficult to feel hard-done-by when other people are stuck in subways and elevators. I guess all we can hope for is that everyone makes it home OK.

Without question, our current power grid systems are simply too prehistoric to meet our needs. But still, there wouldn't be such a strain on the grids if it wasn't so abnormaly hot this year. Personally, I'd be worried about the record high temperatures if it wasn't for the fact that there is no such thing as global warming. I feel safer already.

Doorbell broken

Please knock!

Too tired for much of a rant today. However, I would like to point you in the direction of the PC demo of XIII, a very cool, comic-book styled first-person shooter. I was playing it when I should have been writing rants.

Pow!

Well, here we are on the new server (which is the fifth one to host this site!) And to celebrate, sort of, the Sam and Fuzzy Shop is finally open for business. Original art is now on sale. Signed prints of all the Sam and Fuzzy comics on this site will also be available (as soon as I can decide what kind of paper to print them on) and the t-shirts shouldn't be far behind.

The fanart gallery has also been updated with a keen piece from forum-goer Apathetic. I'd say "check it out," but quite frankly, I've ended far to many posts with that expression.

So check it out!

Damn!
