Sam and Fuzzy Q & A:  Ending Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"With all the recent events, it really feels like the comic is coming to a close! Is this the end of Sam and Fuzzy? What are you going to do next?" -Kate

It's true... our current chapter is the final chapter of Sam and Fuzzy: Race to the Bottom... which is itself the final book in the story that began a decade ago with Sam and Fuzzy Fix Your Problem. This last chapter is the denouement of the saga, and the Sam and Fuzzy series as we know it. This is it!

So why have I not been loudly trumpeting this as THE END OF SAM AND FUZZY? It's because, while this is probably the last time I do a giant multi year saga staring Sam and Fuzzy specifically... it's not the end of me publishing webcomics on samandfuzzy.com every M/W/F, nor the end of me telling stories set in the S&F universe. So why freak people out? I'd rather they stick around and see the fun surprises.

So what's next? Short stories! Big stories! Stories set in the S&F universe, showing what's next for some of our favourite characters! Stories set in brand new worlds, staring brand new characters! And yes, even though they won't be my main focus, I am sure Sam and Fuzzy themselves will still turn up now and then, since I managed to end their series without murdering either of them.

I'm really looking forward to it. And I hope you all are, too! If you have already been enjoying the wide variety of stuff I've been running here on the site for the several years, I guarantee you will dig what's next.

"I know that the webcomic community is in a very different place than the one it was in when Guest weeks were still a thing, but is there a chance for some guest artist honoring the end of the era?" -Johnathan

That might be fun! To be honest, the main reason I stopped doing guest weeks is because S&F's story-heavy nature and increasing lack of a consistent status quo just made it very challenging for the guest creators to come up with one-off strips. It's hard to write a strip to run in the future when you don't know what that future is going to look like or what state the characters are going to be in. Heck, most of the last several years, Sam and Fuzzy weren't even in the same location!

But maybe it will be easier after this giant, decade-long saga finally wraps up with this chapter! I would certainly not mind taking a week or two off before I start lunging headfirst into new comics.

"Are the Saucy Hippo [patreon] comics canon? And if so, when do they take place?" -Mark

They are canon! However, they're what I would call "inessential canon". If you like adult art and humour, and also like S&F, I'm sure you'll enjoy them! (And if you'd like to, you can do so by signing up for the "Saucy Hippo" Patreon tier.) But if you are not into sexy cartoons, please don't worry about skipping them! I promise you are not going to miss anything Super Important To The Canon. You're just going to miss a lot of naked people and dumb jokes.

As for when they take place... the "Gert's Debut" story took place between Noosehead and Fix Your Problem. As for the rest, I can't actually reveal when they take place yet, because it would spoil a fun little twist in one of the upcoming ones. But it'll become clear fairly shortly!

That's all for this week, team! Come back on Monday for our next comic.

Dr. Love

It's true... Dr. Crab has gone public! Can you believe I dropped this megaton on you as a mere throwaway side panel? Where is the 100-part Dr. Crab reveal saga? So many regrets...

Our next comic arrives on Friday! So does our traditional "Q and A" features, so if you've got a question for me, just pop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line!
