We briefly interupt our current story for this one-off comic! I just wanted to do this one. (And now was the time to do it!) Our regular story resumes on Monday!

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A:  Scott Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"I just finished rereading the comic from the start and I realized it was never really clear… what part of the country is Newport supposed to be in anyway?" -Lawrence

Newport is a west coast harbour town. I think of it as being somewhere in Washington or Oregon, but I've avoided placing it too precisely. We actually included a map in the Underground RPG, but we made the icons large to keep the locations a little vague.

There actually IS a Newport on the coast in Oregon, but it's much smaller than my fictional one, and I didn't find out about it until after I named the city in the comic.

"What are the Erasers getting up to nowadays? Either the surviving Buddy Bots or the surviving organics? Did they get folded into existing law enforcement or did they say screw this and are off sipping mai tais somewhere?" -missystrange

A large portion of the Eraser Buddy Bots -- maybe even the majority of them -- were lost during the eruption crisis. They were the first (and most expendable) line of defense, so I imagine a lot of them were just incidentally destroyed or damaged beyond repair. That said, I'm sure we'll see some of the surviving units turn up somewhere sooner or later! They're mindless military servants, so I'm sure there are lots of people who'd have use for 'em.

As for the organic Erasers... they're all out of a job, so I guess they all had to find other work! What I wonder most, though, is what happened to their cloaking uniforms? There may be a lot more characters using them for opportunistic purposes, much like Roan does.

"Hazel is still a wanted criminal aboveground, so is she in hiding, or did Fuzzy get Kim another identity?" -Zoárd

Hazel is living aboveground under a new identity. I'm not sure if Fuzzy was able to secure her an ironclad, Committee-produced fake like Sam's, or if she's just living under the radar. This is probably something I won't decide until I decide to write another story about her, haha!

I will say, in his book and elsewhere, Fuzzy insists Hazel Kim died during the crisis. So authorities aren't really actively looking for her anymore.

That's all for this week, team. But come back on Monday for our next comic!

PS: In case you missed it... I'm having an original artwork sale!
