Fresh air and sunshine

Aaaaaand we're back, with the next installment of our "Whether Permitting" story! Here's the page we left off on before taking a break for holiday programming. (And here's where the story starts!)

Also returning this week... our traditional Friday Q and A column! If you've got a question you'd like me to answer, just pop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line. (Or tweet it at me.)

See you on Friday with our next comic.

2001-2021

It's true! The first page of Sam and Fuzzy -- or at least, the first page of the version that became this webcomic -- was drawn way back in 2001. I drew it for the University of Victoria's student newspaper, The Martlet. Then in 2002, I ran it here on the Sam and Fuzzy website as my very first update!

The nature of S&F's sliding timescale can be a little bizarre. It's not as weird as it could be, since the comic isn't filled with a ton of topical references. But it does still lead to some weirdness... like Hazel using a smart phone in this flashback to the Classic era, even though the original Classic era strips were drawn before smartphones existed.

All right! I hope you have enjoyed all this weirdness. But we're nearly ready to resume our current story! Come back on Wednesday for our next comic.

Happy New Year!

Let's ring in the new year with a fresh perspective on something old. This is, of course, based on this original comic... but with some minor additions.

(Some of you will have seen this comic before on Patreon, or as a bonus feature in my new books. But I thought it would be fun to share it here, too!)

2021 is here! My one and only new year's resolution is to spend a little less time "at work". I've always been a little prone to overworking, but 2020 is the year when it just kind of got away from me. COVID cancelled a year of conventions and threw a big monkeywrench into how I usually make a living... and in my attempts to adjust and create new things to fill the gaps, I just kinda... forgot to take off any time whatsoever. Whoops!

I love my job, but especially now that I'm always at home, it has become very easy to just work all the dang time. So this year, I'm going to be a little more rigorous about actively scheduling time off, to make sure I don't accidentally burn myself out. I may also experiment more here and there with unusual updates or content, like I did this week.

Thanks for your support, everyone! I look forward to sharing lots more comics with you in 2021. See you next week!
