Hmm

Is this leaked teaser footage of Beyond Good and Evil 2? I'm not sure, but then, I'm still struggling with the idea that the game actually exists at all! My brain got so used to BG and E sequels being a lost cause that I keep forgetting one is actually in production now.

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Cybernetic Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"How old are Sam and the other employees of NMS?" -Jessica

Is this question a trick to make reveal who all of NMS's employees are? Because it won't work. (Ha!)

As for NMS's known employees... Sam was 26 back when the comic started, so that would make him 29 in the current strips. I've never picked an exact age for Aaron, but it's probably somewhere around 32. Devahi is 21. Buddy the goldfish is 1.

Fuzzy, of course, has no idea how old he is.

"Has anyone bought the rights to a Sam and Fuzzy movie?" -Kaushik

Haha! No, they certainly haven't. Would you like to?

Property optioning kind of terrifies me, to be honest. Once you sign on the dotted line, everything is out of your hands. And even studios with the absolute best of intentions have managed to completely butcher great comics! Sam and Fuzzy is my baby... I'm not sure I'd be willing to risk that.

Then again, who knows if I'd have the balls to stick to that if someone was waving around big stack of bills. Or, I don't know, a sandwich.

I'm so hungry.

"What happened to the Dayfree press? Did everyone stop caring about web comic arms race or something?" -Shane

Honestly, the only think that's really changed is that we've got extremely lazy about updating our website. Dayfree was always primarily just a group of friends who split booths at comic conventions... and that's pretty much exactly what it is today, as well.

If our group seems somehow less formal or pronounced than it used to be, it's probably just because of how well a lot of us webcomics groups and soloists have gotten to know each other over the last few years. As you might have guessed from the Webcomics Weekend, doing the convention circuit for a few years forms a lot of social bonds. Which is great... although having so many incredibly talented friends is kind of intimidating sometimes!

"Silly gag question?" -Bob

Hilarious gag response. See you on Monday!

My condition

Extra-long, action-heavy comics like today's always require a lot of extra heavy lifting on my end to pull off... but I'd hate to cram a potentially cool sequence into less space than it deserves.

Once upon a time, every single Sam and Fuzzy strip was four panels long by necessity... art was only a hobby for me, after all, and there are only so many hours in the day. But now that I'm actually making a living at this -- thanks entirely to all of your support for the comic and it's swag -- I can make time to be a bit more ambitious. Call it a little extra indulgence for the guy drawing... and hopefully, a little extra fun for everyone reading.

We return on Friday with a new strip and a new installment of Q and A! See you then.
