I am on vacation this week! (Half-assed cell phone photos of which can be seen by following my twitter feed.) But don't worry. Even though I'm gone, our latest story will keep on rolling as usual. How is this even possible? Sorcery! (Or possibly advanced planning and an auto-updating script.)

Ok, just kidding. It's not actually a reference to anything! You're just meant to pretend that it is, and make everyone you know feel bad for not "getting" it. See? That could be you, making people bad, wearing an orange shirt!

Well, but not for long. "Obtuse Reference" is one of four of our classic designs that we recently retired. Get them while the getting's good!

"Why does Rikk keep making Skull Panda comics for you, even though you fill your comic with lies about him? Adorable bunny-drawing lies!" -Max

Tolerating his fictional counterpart and assisting with the occasional guest strip are just some of the many delightful burdens Rikk must suffer in exchange for being allowed to use the Skull Panda character. (Which, thanks to a particularly successful poker game, I technically own.)

"What happened to Sam's gloves? They were nifty. " -Corin

To be honest, I'm not totally sure he isn't still wearing them! A long sleeve hides many a... glove... top... thing. If the comic was in colour, would Sam's hands be white, or flesh-coloured? YOU DECIDE.


"What do you and skull panda think of Skelanimals? " -Tom

I think it's coincidence, much like the Skull Panda of Panda Z! Rikk, on the other hand, wants to know if there's a kind of lawsuit that doubles as a murder weapon.

Skull Panda doesn't think anything! He's just a cartoon character. He's not real. Silly! I'm not going to just make up feelings for a fake person!
