Psychic Lobsters

Beware the lobsters.

Come back on Friday for a new comic, and a new round of Q and A! If you've got a question you'd like me to answer, just pop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line. It can be about the comic, my other work, or... well, basically whatever.  Woo!

Moody Monday

I know today's comic is a little somber, but I think it makes for a good cap-off to the sequence that ran last week! Those kind of back-and-forth sequences are one of my favourite comic narrative devices, so I couldn't resist indulging a little and doing a really ellaborate one. (I think I managed to chop it up into decently stand-alone chunks, but it's probably ideal to read the four installments all in one go for the full acceleration effect!)

We return on Wednesday with our next comic. See you then, team!

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A:  No References Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"Were these chair people chair people by chance live in ceaseless screaming agony after being created by necromancers?" -Tom

Tom is referring to this Exterminatus Now comic (which I will warn you is a little gory)! It was not an intentional reference, no. But I actually do know the dude who made that comic! He often had a booth near us at Calgary Expo.

"[In comic #2808] - was switching from Banjo to Kazoo(ie) an intentional reference or not?" -James

This was not an intentional reference, either... but it really feels like it should be, doesn't it? Maybe it was subconcious?

"Are you going to be doing any conventions at all this year?" -Dave

Er... Maybe? So far, 5 of the 9 cons I was going to attend this year have been cancelled. (Although Emerald City has theoretically been rescheduled in August, rather than outright cancelled... we'll see if that sticks!)

San Diego Comic-Con in late July is my first scheduled convention that is currently still on the books. After that, I have (in theory) Gen Con, the rescheduled Emerald City, Fan Expo Toronto, and Edmonton Expo. But I think it's too early to tell whether any of those events will need to be cancelled, too! Everyone is waiting to see how things are looking by the summer.

I like cons, and they're a huge part of how I make a living, but we all gotta do whatever's in the best interests of everyone's health. (I also have the added layer of being a Canadian... so even after events stop getting cancelled and travel bans lift, I can't personally go to any American shows until the insurance companies are sufficiently confident enough to start selling temporary traveller's health insurance again.)

Just as a side note: extra special thanks to all the folks who have been helping to support me online while I do my best to slog through this cancelled convention season. It's a huge help!

That's all for this week, team. See you on Monday!
