Ok... so it's not Fidgital. However, I swear I do really love that guy, so rest assured, he's making an actual appearance in the future. For real! Would I lie to you?

Of course, if you're starved for authentic Fidgital content, you can always (re)read the "Crossed Wires" storyline! As I've mentioned before, it's one of my all time favourite S&F stories! It's also one of the stories collected in Sam and Fuzzy Race to the Bottom: our upcoming two book set. If you missed the Kickstarter for it, there's still time to sign-up via our Preorder store and grab the final two S&F books. (Or the complete series collection!)

All right! See you on Wednesday for our next comic.

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A:  Job Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"What's Sam doing now; post main storyline? Did he go back to drive a cab, or is he looking for work?" -Alex

I guess this could technically count as a mild spoiler, but Sam does indeed get a job at the new N-M-S after applying to manage it in the last chapter.

I know that chapter doesn't outright confirm that he gets hired, but you all have my persmission to take it as a given. I know I do! And I have made a couple of very incidental references to his employment status in the Sam-and-Gert-centric Saucy Hippo story I'm working on for Patreon. (Although that comic is about nsfw burlesque antics and has nothing to do with his job at N-M-S.)

I am sure sooner or later we will learn more about Sam's new job N-M-S, but I'll wait until it's relevant to a story I'm telling on here. (He will probably show up as a supporting character in some of our future stories.)

"Are you sure it wouldn't be possible to achieve slightly less painful shipping costs to the EU? I'd love to get the full set of books but shipping is prohibitive. Perhaps we could put our names on a list and once you had a decent number you could send them in bulk? I'm in no rush...." -Thomas

I feel you, Thomas. But unfortunately, a full set of S&F books is enormous and weighs a lot. (Nearly 20 lbs/9 kg!) That kind of parcel is pricey to mail internationally. And we just don't do the kind of volume needed to make shipping in bulk and using an EU distributor a viable option.

To soften the blow, I'm actually personally subsidizing all our international shipping costs just to get them as low as they are. (Otherwise they'd be much higher, amazingly.) I also include a free custom drawn bookplate and pin set with all our book sets at no extra charge. I hope that helps soften the blow, but I understand the shipping is still pricey.

I wish the shipping situation was different. It's been an ongoing problem the whole time I've been in this business. The truth is, the rates just keep going up year after year. We are all particularly nervous about what will happen if USPS goes under or is forced to spike their rates into space. Exciting times!

"Do you have any plans to do any comics where the characters are affected by COVID? (Or whatever the S&F universe equivalent pandemic would be.)" -Max

I don't think so. I do think it could be interesting to see how some of my characters would react to that kind of event. But the S&F universe was just upended by a totally different massive societal shift. Right now, I'm writing about a world where humans and inhumans are suddenly forced to live together. I feel like the potential of those kinds of stories might be a little undercut by a pandemic that forces them all to stay home and social distance all the time. Ha!

That's all for this week, friends. But come back on Monday for our next comic!
