Wizard of Augh

It looks like I will be attending Seattle's Emerald City in May. I heard nothing but good things from people who attended last year, both from other cartoonists and from attendees... so if it turns out badly I'll have a lot of people to choose from when I am administering blame. But by all accounts it's a great show, and one that gives attendees a lot of bang for their buck.

I'm still busy figuring out which other conventions I'll be doing this year, but I'll keep you all posted as we get closer to the con season!

The new boss

On Wednesday, I linked to the recently-continuity-refreshed webcomic Goats. But unfortunately, I did it with a mis-typed link that remained mis-typed for most of the rest of the day. If you are one of the many who followed my poor guidance to URL oblivion, perhaps you can try again today, now that I've learned to type properly!

And now, for no particular reason, let's take a moment to remember the Fight! mini-poster. I guess it just sprung to my mind today because I was mulling over possible future poster designs that I might unleash later this year. The "Fight!" poster has been around for awhile, but it has been a long time since it's been mentioned anywhere outside of the shop. And you know, it sold quite well at first, but slowed down once I stopped advertising it... a very "well duh" sort of outcome that reminds us all why I am a cartoonist and not a marketing executive.

Only the fish knows for sure

With today's comic, Sam has finally arrived at the moment we've known he was headed for since we saw him at the end of the "Break-In" storyline. Starting Friday: the cold, uncertain future.

Rumor has it that webcomic institution Goats has just wrapped up a massive multi-year storyline, and is now launching a brand new arc. (A moment in time narratively akin to the jump between volumes 3 and 4 of Sam and Fuzzy.) If you've ever been scared away by this great strip's massive archive and backstory, now is the perfect time to jump in and start enjoying it with no catch-up reading required!
