Camosun College Comics event this weekend!

Apologies, Q and A fans... I was too busy getting ready for this Sunday's free comics event at Camosun College in Victoria to answer any of your questions! I will try to answer a few extra next week to make up for it. (As always, if you've got a question, just email it to me with "Q and A" in the subject line.)

And don't forget, Victoria-ites... said Camosun College comics event is free to attend and open to the public! So if you want to meet some cartoonists, hear them yammer about comics for a bit and/or snag some of their swag and original artwork, be sure to come by on Sunday and check it out!

Hats off

Any Team Fortress 2 fans in the audience might be interested in checking out the commission I recently finished. This is actually the second time I've done a TF2/Sam and Fuzzy mash-up I've been hired by a reader to draw, and the dude who nabbed it took the opportunity to switch around some of the casting from the previous version. What Sam and Fuzzy character would you assign to each TF2 class? I think we can all agree it's an intensely personal decision.

Don't forget, citizens of Victoria, BC... I'll be in town this Sunday as a guest at a free comics event at Camosun College, as will a bunch of other cool cartoonists! I'll have plenty of cool Sam and Fuzzy swag in tow, and I'll also be participating in some sort of presentation about how being a cartoonist can be a real job and everything. (Something which never ceases to astound me, even now!) It should be a lot of fun.

Dev & Cat comics

No April Fools day joke here, team! But don't worry: Skull Panda has you covered.

A lot of the content of Sam and Fuzzy is the result of obsessive (possibly over-obsessive) planing. But the Devahi/Conscience Cat dynamic was just one of those happy accidents. I'm glad these two characters found each other, because I really enjoy writing them together.

Every time Conscience Cat appears in the comic, a well-meaning newer reader asks me if I'd consider making a t-shirt based on him. But there's no need to ask -- I already made a Conscience Cat t-shirt! It's actually my oldest design that we still sell, based on his very first appearance. We also have a whiteboard, but at this precise moment we're all out of them. Huzzah... more have arrived!
